On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
The last one for tonight - another great Spanish contemporary jazz album...
Slowly Rolling Camera's eponymous album.
Recommmended to me here, so thank you. Fits the mood of low key euphoria perfectly.

There was a reason they were the biggest band in the world, they wrote great pop and rock songs, catchy simple numbers and complex works of art, and performed them brilliantly.
Well stated Eoink. I would add to that the Beatles were highly productive because they generally didn't spend time lingering on songs. Helps explain the immediate energy captured on their tracks. Progressive as their studio effects and production became, they had their fun then got their songs out there in short order and moved on to the next album. Professional and motivated in the studio. Self-assured without looking back.
At some point in the 1970s a year in the studio to produce a 9 or 10-track album followed by a two-year hiatus became the accepted norm.
Dylan Carson. A nice bit of Drone Rock, admittedly not to everyones taste but he is reckoned to be un there amongst the best in experimental music at this moment in time because of his earlier work with the band Earth.
James Carter: Gardenias for Lady Day (SACD)
Need a kick this morn
1st real run...
Ketil Bjornstad - Early piano music
Starting with some relaxing music by Ketil Bjornstad. It's a mix of jazz and classical music.
As well 1st run...
Sometimes it's fun to just pick music through a different route. This morning I wanted to play some jazz, so selected Jazz through the Genre tab and by chance found this. I don't think I'd have chosen Coltrane otherwise, but this is going down very nicely. Blues to Elvin playing as I type.
Elina Duni - Patir
Checking out the music of Elina Duni.
Elina Duni - Voice, piano, guitar and percussion.
No neighbours around, so I've been working my way through this epic. On Classic Records 200g vinyl, mastered by Bernie Grundman:
Another random pick through the Genre tab. Haven't played any John Schofield for a while, which cannot be right! I love his guitar tone - so unique and hearing any of his music is immediately identifiable.
Continuing with him, quite good playing...
