What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
It's Kevin-W's fault. I'll fess-up. I became hopelessly addicted to Led Zep in my teens and have never ever been able to shake the habit. And there I was happily enjoying a bit of Joni and he posted Led Zep I. My nerve held, for a while at least. Then he posted Led Zep II. Damn it! All my self-control evaporated and I just had to have another dose.
Ah! That's better...........I'll be stronger next time though (gulp).
Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman
I'm currently catching up on all the MCU films in preparation for a visit to the cinema next weekend to see Infinity War.
I was inspired to listen to this as a result of watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last night in which they play an extract of Father and Son.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
pete T15 posted:Prompted to listen to again this whilst listening to Guy Garvey on BBC6 Music yesterday . It was the joint first CD I ever bought in the summer of 1985 along with Simple Minds 'Once Upon A Time' on the day I got a Phillips CD104 player , great memories and still sounds fresh today .
That was my first cd player back in '85 , built like a tank and with the best/smoothest drawer action I have ever seen. Then I was later lured by Technics and their MASH technology
Todd's weird pop masterpiece on UK first press...
Jackson does Ellington in a modern style with various guest artists collaboratting
Heck, some phenomenal pop on this - sadly a bit too risqué for family listening, and a bit heavy on the equlity messages, but I think I'll be playing this frequently in the next few days - never heard of her before but her back catalogue looks fascinating with sci-fi type narratives:
Some of the songs remind me of Madonna tracks from around the time of Erotica.
Fish
13th Star Deluxe Edition - 16/44.1

It was a great CD player and I can still hear the drawer ... It lasted for what seemed like forever though and it took a CD3.5 to replace it for me ! By quite a margin it has to be said but I certainly loved it and had my money's worth .
Van Morrison - Poetic Champions Compose , a helping of classic Van The Man
Now Playing.......
Lindi Ortega - Tin Star
Streaming on TIDAL........ Continuing on with Lindi's catalogue. Enjoying her vocals, lyrics and music.
Paul Rodgers - Muddy Water Blues - WAV CD rip
Arrived and ripped today, 1st play. Can’t fault the material, a selection of Muddy Waters’s finest, with a couple of Albert King’s greatest numbers. He’s got a stellar cast of axemen across the numbers, Jeff Beck particularly is on fire on his 3 tracks, they all do the songs proud. And Rodgers nails them, no attempt to pretend to be Muddy, he sings the blues from his heart and gives superb interpretations. Another tip from AlanP, thanks Alan, a very welcome addition to the NAS.
The Hoax - Humdnger, WAV CD rip
Sticking with the blues, this brilliant British group were a discovery for me via Ewemon. They deserved to be huge, really good songs, played by guys who really can play both their instruments and the blues, and a great blues-singing frontman.
I don't think I have ever seen one of her solo albums on here apart from the Applewood set she did with Emily Baker and Amy Spence.
If you like to hear a band in a room then you would do no worse than get a copy of this.
Fabulous sq

Reminds me of the Axons or maybe the Krynoids
Now Playing.......
Elina Duni - Partir
Elina Duni (voice, piano, guitar, percussion).
Streaming on TIDAL....... A new release from ECM Records on 04/27/18. A fantastic & sweet voice along with some beautiful music.
Dagmar Krause - Supply and Demand, original U.K. vinyl
Songs of Hans Eisler and Brecht/Weill mainly sung in English. Dagmar Krause came out of the art rock scene in Germany and then England (she was the vocalist with Henry Cow), before releasing this album of Berlin cabaret music from the masters. Her voice is perfect for the style, she sings the songs with an intensity that makes them seem genuinely dangerous, backed with a fine band, it grabs me viscerally. Alabama Song can be light in some hands, here it is intensely powerful.
Need to hear it a couple of times more, some interesting aspects...
For more advanced listening of Trio Jazz...
This is easier to listen to...
This one was even more enjoyable...
