On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
John Mayer - Paradise Valley, a less poppy and more mature sound
Now playing.......
Mathias Eick - Ravensburg
Mathias Eick (trumpet, voice), Håkon Aase (violin), Andreas Ulvo (piano), Audun Erlien (electric bass), Torstein Lofthus (drums), and Helge Andreas Norbakken (drums, percussion).
Streaming on TIDAL....... In the mood for some soothing trumpet, and I also love this album!
Johnny Hartman - Songs from the heart

Ian, I believe their debut album was the eponymous Wishbone Ash, released a year earlier...

Having a Wishbone Ash fest - Playing on Vinyl on MCA Records -1981
Thanks Stevee - Did you see them Live over the years ?
I only saw them once on the Number the Brave tour 1981 and thought they where great.I remember they started the set with "The King will come" it was wicked.Argus is their big album.
Happy listening - Rock on Mate
Louis Hayes sextet - Blue Lou
This is a great recording by the Louis Hayes sextet! The title might imply that they only / mostly play slow songs. However, the opposite is true. All tracks are medium to up tempo. All members play well and give great solos.
Recommended if you are into bebop style of jazz.
Louis Hayes - drums
Eddie Allen - trumpet
Gerald Hayes - alto sax
Javon Jackson - tenor sax
Ronnie Mathews - piano
Clint Houston - bass
The Isley Bros / Santana - Power of Peace, this isn't too bad musically, but like a lot of Santana's recent output the sound is compressed to hell and there is no dynamics or nuances to the music.Shame as it seems a modicum of care went into performing the songs
Joanna MacGregor - Play
No real reason. Work has finished. Having a cup of tea But the mood is right.

Moon Duo - Jukebox Babe
Just a really nice two track taster from the duo who addd their own psych rock spin to this one from Iggy.
“We started playing ‘No Fun’ after BBC Radio 6 asked us to record an Iggy song for his 70th birthday. We added it to our set to work it out for the session and kept playing it every night because everyone loves that song. We worked up a version of ‘Jukebox Babe’ because our sound engineer Larry got it stuck in his head and was singing it all the time. We figured, we may as well play it if we’re going to hear it all the time."e

Yes I caught them at The Fairfield Halls in Croydon on their 1973 tour. It was a really good night loads of their early big numbers got played (very well) the place was rocking. If you don't happen to have any of their live albums go for Live Dates (not Live Dates 2 or 3) good stuff from their early years.
Cheers.
Sebastien Tellier. Politics.
Too all those looking forward to tomorrow's exciting voting procedures.
Moon Duo - Live in Ravenna
(2014)
In need of more from Moon Duo and reminiscing about live gigs prompted me to give duo's a spin. I wasn't there unfortunately, a hot summer evening on an Adriatic beach in the summer of 2013, I could go a bit of that right now.

I’ve always loved the Clash version of the title track.

I’m a fan of Naxos, both for their recordings of well known works with lesser known artists, and for their historical pressings. Not all are fine, but there are definitely more gems than not for my taste. The Idil Biret complete Chopin is a particular favourite.
Thanks for the suggestion. Any particular, stand out recommendations? Even for these Asgaardian ears?
