Janis Joplin - Greatest Hits.
Last night, I finally got round to watching the Beeb documentary on Janis ............ one of a kind ................... so this.
Bit of a nostalgia fest Chez Dave so far today.
I recently saw this incredible performance on youtube of her and Tom Jones taken from the This is Tom Jones tv show. Link: Raise Your Hand.
What a chemistry between those two!
Hell, yeah!
Good shout, Drikus.
Japan - Tin Drum.
Continuing the nostalgia fest, this wasn't really my sort of music at all, but bought it on the strength of the single, "Ghosts", and was
wowed by the atmospheric feel of the album, plus, of course, Mick Khan's sublime fretless bass playing.
Dire Straits
Brothers In Arms (1996 Remaster) - 16/44.1
Edward
(2013)
A spot of grungy stoner rock mixed up with a bit of psychedelic doom, well why not it is Thursday after all!

Yep, very good stuff Dave. If you don't have any of David Sylvians solo albums ("as it wasn't your sort of music") you might like to Tidalise one or two of them? Gone to Earth from 1986 is very good IMHO and well worth a go.
Cheers
Chet Baker & Bill Evans - The complete legendary sessions.
Although the title of the CD says Chet Baker and Bill Evans it’s more a Chet Baker CD. This CD contains tracks of the Chet Baker albums ‘The lyrical trumpet of Chet Baker’ and ‘Chet Baker plays the best of Lerner and Loewe’. With one exception the CD consist only of ballads. But it’s never gets boring. Chet Baker plays very well on these tracks.
- Chet Baker - Trumpet
- Bill Evans - Piano
- Herbie Mann - Flute
- Pepper Adams - sax
- Kenny Burrell - guitar
- Paul Chambers - Bass
- Connie Kay - Drums
- Philly Joe Jones - Drums
- Zoot Sims - Sax
- Earl May - Bass
- Clifford Jarvis - Drums

Thanks Steve, will do.
An old album but new to me. Arrived today and my first play. I'm liking what I'm hearing.
Now Playing........
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels on A Gravel Road
Streaming on TIDAL......... Continuing the day along with Lucinda, sounding mighty fine....

It's ironic that on the back of the chair on which Keith was sat it says "Not to be taken away". Someone wasn't listening.

Played it this morning a beautiful album.
(2017)
All Them Witches - Sleeping Through The War
Another fine album from these boys who like doing their rock in stoner, desert and psychedelic style.
Alison Moyet - Alf.
Still with the nostalgia thing, the first CD I ever bought ............... played on my new Marantz, something or other, top loader.
Lionel Richie
Back To Front - 24/96
Edward
One of my lesser-played Mary Black albums. Still good, though.
Larry Willis trio - Just in time
- Larry Willis - Piano
- Bob Cranshaw - Bass
- Kenny Washington - Drums
Jeff Wayne
The War Of The Worlds - 16/44.1
One of the best albums ever made IMHO.

A vinyl rip.
Mono vinyl. No reason other than it's Rubber Soul by The Beatles! In mono!

The Rolling Stones - 1st. Album.
In mono, as it should be .......... from the mono boxset.
Ah ................ Dansette Days are here again! ................ (with apologies to Led Zep).
I used to have this one until a party in the early 1970s. I ask for it back from time to time! Quite collectible!

Have listened to this during the day. A nice combination of catchy numbers...
