Fleetwood Mac, Tango in the Night.

My son heard Little Lies on the radio and wnated a second listen. So we spun the deck.

I haven't listened to this album for ages, and what a lumpen series of juxtaposed tracks it is! No sense of album contiguity whatsoever. How can you put the banal 80s bombast of Mystified after the glorious guitar solo at the end of Tango in the Night? Album filling, methinks. And that guitar solo is so hamfistedly tacked on to the end of the rest of the song as to be almost a separate track. And yet I love Big Love, Seven Wonders and even Caroline's not bad.

Back in the rack for another 7 years, then.

Now, let's spin something worth listening to... it's 1981 and Van Halen are doing the whole Americano Heavy rock Unchained thing. It's Mean Street, and when Push Comes to Shove, you've had Fair Warning! Not a bad track on it, still as fresh as a young Asgaardian can remember. It's enough to crave mortality!

  Augustus Pablo - Skanking Easy.

Winding down at the end of a busy day with some more chilled hypnotic dub from the master ................ top notch 2 X CD set.

Clark Tracey ‘Stability’. A gentle melee of British jazzers from the turn of the century. And in the spirit of the age, on Linn CD. God bless ‘em.
