On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Andrea Janser & Mr Lunatic - Keep on lovin'
I have been listening to Radio Swiss Jazz this afternoon and the played music from Andrea Janser. I did not know off her, but I liked the music. So I'm checking out her album via Qobuz.
Nice vocal Jazz.
Modern sound, still need some more time to really appreciate it.....
Nice relaxed album...

Best CD version of DSOTM I've heard.
You should've heard the SACD layer like I did, mesmerising!

Just the job on this lovely warm and sunny May day.
What about being out in the garden? Steve, by the way good choice of music.
Admittedly I'm rescuing the garden after the tenancy ended a week ago, but satisfying to find what lies beneath and think of the many plants there to be enjoyed.
Relaxing now and waiting The the white wine to chill a bit.
Phil
Always enjoy this album by Rory - His lyrics are on songs like "Philby " are especially good .Playing on Vinyl on Chrysalis Records -1978
Amazing Jazz - music and soundwise... Highly recommended...
The Rails - Other People, original vinyl
I’m seeing the band next Sunday, so having a listen to their newer album. Very fine folk-rock, dark songs with twists of humour. The Rails are Kami Thompson (daughter of Richard and Linda) and her husband James Wallbourne (guitarist with the current lineups of the Pretenders and the Pogues). Kami sings beautifully, they harmonise well, James offers fine lead vocals on a few numbers, they have a top-class backing band, and James is one of the best young(ish) guitarists around, able to play sensitively with a song and also to rock out in spectacular fashion. Classy album, well played thoughtful music.
(Nephew’s ETA now 7.30, and fixed, he’s on the train. If I’d known he’d arrive in the mid-evening, I wouldn't have spent this lovely day in the house llistening to music while waiting for him, although I did get 2 hours in the garden this morning before the heat, and saw the Tour de Yorkshire. It has been a nice afternoon of music tho’, so no real complaint.)
First run on this one. Hard to categorize modern classical/experimental music... A beautiful and interesting sometimes hypnotical listen experience...
Fink - Horizontalism.
A collection of dub reworkings of the "Hard Believer" album ............. just the thing to accompany the post-barbecue chilled wine.
OK, it's a bit obvious, but it's gotta be done, hasn't it? UK first press vinyl:
The Christmas Party gig from 1989. Excellent sq and great performance.
Michael Garrick double header. ‘Home Stretch Blues’ from 1972 featuring a deal of Norma Winstone-sung lyrical pieces and with that a lighter touch.
Followed by 1974’s ‘Troppo!’. Wow. The depth and breadth is quietly mesmerising. And with Norma in more abstract voice, very modern.
Now Playing..........
Egberto Gismonti - Saudações
Egberto Gismonti (guitars), Alexandre Gismonti (guitars), Camerata Romeu (Cuba’s all-women orchestra), and Zenaida Romeu (conductor).
Streaming from NAS.......... arrived on Friday in the mail, ripped to NAS and now streaming. A two CD affair with “Sertões Veredas” Recorded August 2006, Teatro Amadeo Roldán, Havana with Egberto Gismonti: composer, Camerata Romeu (all women orchestra), Zenaida Romeu conducting on CD1; and “Duetos De Violões” Recorded April and May 2007, Mega Studio and Cecília Meireles Hall, Rio de Janeiro with Egberto Gismonti and his son Alexandre Gismonti: guitars on CD2.
A beautiful album and perfect for this late Sunday morning listening........

Phil,
I had a few hours on the golf course this morning then back home I put together a light lunch after which I spent a couple of hours tidying in the garden broken up occasionally with some puppy training followed by a walk with him. Made a roast chicken dinner accompanied in the making by copious quantities of over chilled Chardonnay and some music.

Fink - See It All EP.
A remix fix of five tracks from the "Sort of Revolution" album ............ there's some great Fink remix stuff out there.
OK, they can take some tracking down on t' interweb, but you'll be well rewarded.
