What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

(1967)
This early album of hers has some lovely old numbers on it, Glen Campbell's voice being as mellow, sonourous and heartfelt as ever.
A mellow album to start after a day in the sun
Dire Straits - Communique

Just the job on this lovely warm and sunny May day.
What about being out in the garden? Steve, by the way good choice of music.
Admittedly I'm rescuing the garden after the tenancy ended a week ago, but satisfying to find what lies beneath and think of the many plants there to be enjoyed.
Relaxing now and waiting The the white wine to chill a bit.
Phil
Phil,
I had a few hours on the golf course this morning then back home I put together a light lunch after which I spent a couple of hours tidying in the garden broken up occasionally with some puppy training followed by a walk with him. Made a roast chicken dinner accompanied in the making by copious quantities of over chilled Chardonnay and some music.

Dire Straits - Dire Straits
AlanP's Communiqué tempted me to give their fine sounding debut a well deserved run out.

Nick, more like the general dog's body! ![]()
I'll see Stevee's debut album and raise him a Making Movies
Thought I'd follow on in the same vein

Can't say why, but I've never quite understood why this is album is so incredibly popular.
No disrespect intended, it's quite enjoyable but it just doesn't work as well for me as some other Pink Floyd albums.
Sounding very fatiguing as I listen currently, time to revert to 2.3 on my Nova again maybe....

Love that record - just think that Muff Winwood did what all producers should do and keep out the way. Communique was a great record to but I thought Jerry Wexler made it a little to glossy.

Fink - Perfect Darkness.
At the end of a lazy, hot, North Yorks. Sunday afternoon, spent barbecuing and sipping cold vino, in the company of friends, this
album does indeed seem the perfect end to a perfect day. ![]()

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold
Egged on by AlanP I'm blowing the dust off this one.

It was most innovative at the time of it's release. It's not an album I play so often now, but whenever I do it takes me back to the first time I heard it and again I recognise how refreshing and creative it was.
Deciding not to take the bait from Stevee and play Brothers In Arms I'm finishing off with
Ella Fitzgerald and Nelson Riddle

First play earlier this evening. For some reason I didn't buy this when it was released. Its Latin tones suit the warm Spring afternoon so well.
On vinyl...

MQA.
I saw someone say on another forum that they thought that Jazz was particularly suited to the MQA sauce. Can’t argue with that with this album certainly.

One of the best bands I saw and also one of the most boring. Saw them on their first tour to promote Sultans of Swing and they were really good. Then saw them a year later promoting Communique and they played the album note for note which bored me to tears.

Steve,
You have been busy! I managed 6 hours gardening. My good wife had roasted a lovely small lamb joint followed by spotted dick and custard. Beautiful evening sun getting through the walnut which has yet to leaf. I should cut it down because the squirrels steal all the nuts before they are ready to drop.
The Cabernet Sauvignon tasted good. I wil finish it tonight!

Well done Phil, it would seem that you also had a good and tasty day!
Yesterday’s evening last enjoyment...
