What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Mike and Rich. Expert Knob Twiddlers.
Expanded reissue of 1996 collaboration, Richard D. James and Mike Paradinas. Not so much "intelligent" Dance Music - a sub genre that only a few can pull off !

Ray LaMontagne - "Part Of The Light" (2018) first listen of this new release today in the US
joining you on this one Jeff, streaming via Tidal & very much enjoying what I hear. Some very soulful songs mixed with some with a harder edge - I think another good one from RLM....and I promised myself that I would be good & not drop this into my basket....see how long that lasts
1958 - vinyl (reissue)...
The Strypes - Snapshot.
More high energy rock 'n roll from a band who sound, at times, like a youthful version of the Feelgoods, which can't be a bad thing.
Shelby Lynne - Just A Little Lovin'
Why? 'Wow' is all I can to say.
Beach House - "7" (2018) another recent US release. Not a huge fan but enjoy their take on electro-pop.
Good Solid album by the mighty Zep - I think they recorded it in a month - Playing on Vinyl on Swan Song Records 1976
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - "Sparkle Hard" (2018) first listen to new release.
Sean Rowe - New Lore
Why? Great choons, wonderful baritone voice, powerful lyrics, superb musicianship, full of emotion. Yes, this is not a bad effort by Sean!
Seriously, this is one of my current favourites.
Stu Larsen - Vagabond
Why? Because it is rather good.
Update: Further into this album now and am reminded it is better than 'rather good'.
Deer Tick - "Volume 1" (2017) one review says this covers the bands "softer, folk-driven, Americana tinged roots-rock style". Short of jazz, pop and classical, that pretty much covers everything else, in case you are interested. Not recommended for people who are not interested.
Im going to have a break from Camel soon. I can give up at any time, honestly. This isn't one of my favourites, but I've just been working my way through my collection. Still features some rather good guitar playing from Andy Latimer and generally progressive rock sounds.

Jeff, I love your last comment. Priceless!
I'll have to give this a whirl.
Primal Scream - Screamadelica.
I never need an excuse to play this classic from '91, and which really ought to be in everyone's collection, IMHO.
Great Mini album by Paisley Underground - Psychedelic Rock Band - The Rain Parade - Playing on Vinyl on Zippo Records 1984
Brad Mehldau trio - Seymour reads the constitution!
Their latest release and imo a very good one.
(1995)
This'll do to get the evening started off softly. The beautiful voice of AK and her bluegrass sounds usually aided and abetted by Union Station.

Ian, thanks for these Rain Parade reminders they are a band I had forgotten about, I must reacquaint myself.
Cheers
Now Playing.......
Marc Sinan & Oğuz Büyükberber - White
Streaming on TIDAL...... New ECM Records release 18/05/2018 and taking out for an initial spin.
Gazpacho, Soyuz.
This CD was on the door mat when I got home, so straight in the CD5 XS it went as I couldn't wait for it to rip.
This is a Norwegian Post/Art Prog band, who are to my mind, Superb.
I really should use the CDP more as this is sounding Sweet.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this great album on a sunny Friday evening in deepest Wiltshire, with a lovely cool bottle of Waddies IPA.
The 2xHd DSD128 release sounds amazing considering it was recorded in Oct 1968. I was still in nappies!!!
(1969)
Savoy Brown - Blue Matter
Fancying a total change of tack after Alison Krauss, these excellent heavy blues rock boys caught my eye while glancing around the library. Staggering to believe that this is coming up for the half-century next year.
I'm not a fan of the Rolling Stones, but for some reason I had the song 'Doo Doo...(Heartbreaker)' rattling around my head earlier today. Now playing on vinyl.
