On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

I'll see you & raise yo....... , no hold that, I'll go all in
Time to say nite nite all, I have a sudden urge for an evening of mellow toons

You tease, Mike. The pic does't show.

I'm not a fan of the Rolling Stones, but for some reason I had the song 'Doo Doo...(Heartbreaker)' rattling around my head earlier today. Now playing on vinyl.
Not their finest hour, Clive. Have a listen to Black & Blue instead.
'Fool to Cry' (from B&B) is possibly my second favourite Stones track, Tony. Second that is to the great 'Sympathy for the Devil'.

Mike don't you dare go to bed without sorting the image out! 'All in' with a DK image and none of us can see it. That's just cruel!

I think Black & Blue is probably The Stones ' best sounding album and has some neat grooves

Phil Collins ...But Somebody.... CD
Continuing the theme ...that’s just the way it is .. do you remember (1974) ...another day in paradise ... all of my life..
The lyrics are very poignant. On of the best 99p I ever spent. Did he do a better solo album?
Phil
In answer to your question Phil I feel that Face Value is a better album. Not as slick and polished as his later efforts and if Mr Collins is to be believed recorded before he really knew what he was doing.I have it on SACD and the SQ is superb.
Heartbreaker really is an earworm…
John Holden, Capture Light.
Progressive? Yes. Cinematic? Yes. Theatrical? Yes. World Music? Yes. Atmospheric? Yes. Top Quality Musicians? Yes.
Worth some of you time? Definitely, or Maybe not!
A couple from earlier, Zebop1 and Shango both early 80s Santana. They are both a bit heavy on the rock side, but still retain enough of the signature Santana sound and are well recorded
Fazil Say is one of today’s most interesting pianists of the ‘interventionist’ class, and he uses his imagination to add spice to Mozart, without toppling him. One of the sonatas’ most entertaining sets.

You was robbed!
Of at least 99p and an awful lot of street cred.
Clive, Tell that to [@mention:12970396060785205]. Just to go a step further, I don’t like the rock songs on the album, some of which are just loud and banal! Not sure what that will do to my street cred.
Fortunately, this thread is a very diverse street! It has some sense of humour, though I’m still waiting for [@mention:6917038660692026] to respond to the bit about Italian Eurovision entrants. Nothing like a bit of self deprecation!
Phil
Phil,
I don’t and never careed about EV. As for Italian music, an ex girlfriend (Italian) “introduced” me to people like Zucchero and Carmen. Things you do to get...(!)
Long before that, I did have a soft spot for PFM( Premiata Forneria Marconi) back in the late 70’s early 80’s, Italian prog at its best.
Stay cool.
Cheers,
Tony
Tony, EV has been too political for years. I was impressed by your knowledge of Italian entrants of years ago, which you have now explained. Thank you. I hope you have fond memories.
The first song you quoted was also popularly known as Volare. I’m sure many of us older members will remember it, even if now it is best forgotten. Carmen Consoli also released a song called Confusa e Felice, so I tried to explain the switch from listening to Led Zeppelin to Gigliola Cinquetti thus so! Must try harder as no one seemed to get it!
Phil
Ok, ho capito!
Mike, you are forcing me to learn Italian! . Next up the girl in the other room! Phil
Lou Reed - Transformer , a true classic

I agree, it’s an inspiring set. While overall Fazil Say is hit and miss to my ears, but this set deserves definitely more attention.

Wow what a night ......... thanks Diana
Made before slightly I was born, my mother would be concerned if the air pressure was at its correct position, only someone would have been caught out in a very in correct disposition if such a moog flange wave.

I listened to the whole of this set on Spotify the other week and thought it wonderful - K331 in particular ...
I think his musicianship is outstanding, it combines clarity and precision with great musicality. A very easy and rewarding listen, imo.

New album due out think it is in September.
That was his first album Alan but he had 2 ep's that were released on his own little label before that as I got them off his father.
Been a fan for a long time! Really like this one.
