What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
John Mellencamp featuring Carlene Carter. Sad Clowns & Hillbillies. On vinyl from 2017. I've made a couple recent additions to my Mellencamp holdings and now have all his studio albums, save for a rarity from 1978 entitled "A Biography". Not quite through my first listen to this, his most recent, and I would already consider it one of the standouts of those 23 albums.
Now Playing..........
Wayne Horwitz - Otis Spann and Other Compositions
Wayne Horwitz (piano, electronics), Seattle Chamber Players: Mikhail Schmidt (violin), David Sabee (cello), Laura De Luca (clarinets), and Paul Taub (flutes).
Streaming on NAS......... ending the day with a familiar album that I enjoy, a nice way to end a Sunday evening.....
Andrea Bacchetti - The Italian Bach
Italian pianist Andrea Bacchetti playing the music of Bach on piano.
Back as a kid when I only had 4 albums this was one of them:
John Fogerty. Eye Of The Zombie. On vinyl from 1986. Just bought a first pressing in VG+ condition. SQ is great, but on first listen, I'm not sure what to make of this as a Fogerty album. Listenable, but maybe not John's greatest moment?

Funny you mention back as a kid and having only 4 albums. My first TT, around age 10 or 11, was a portable blue plastic clamshell model with a single small speaker, no idea of the maker. The first three LPs I remember buying to play on it were from Tom Jones, Chicago, and The Carpenters. The fourth was The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour. That fourth album set my in stone my listening predilections for the future. I still own it and it's playable. The first three LPs were eventually grabbed by my mother and are long since lost to the world.
Jazz with a nice groove / funk feel to it....
Nice swinging..
Lars Danielsson - Tarantella
The playing seems simultaneously expressive and precise. A super opener to to what I hope will be a sunny week.
A gentle piece of Bach Lute music to get the working week going - Playing on Compact Disc
Always enjoy a bit of Depeche enjoying this a great deal - Playing on Compact Disc on Mute Records 2001
Now playing........
Wayne Horwitz and Sweeter Than the Day - A Walk In The Dark
Wayne Horvitz (piano and keyboards), Timothy Young (guitars), Keith Lowe (acoustic bass), and Eric Eagle (drums).
Streaming on NAS........ A 2002 release from Wayne which I have not listened to in awhile and taking it out for a spin. I enjoy Wayne's music and have been fortunate enough to see with various artists play and enjoy his music and performances quite a bit.
Junior Cook - On a misty night
Nice post bop jazz from the Junior Cook quartet.
- Bass – Walter Booker
- Drums – Leroy Williams
- Piano – Mickey Tucker
- Tenor Saxophone – Junior Cook
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On A Gravel Road
Why? It's a pleasure.
Now Playing........
Wayne Horvitz Gravitas Quartet - Way Out East
Wayne Horvitz (piano, electronics), Peggy lee (cello), Ron Miles (trumpet), and Sara Schoenbeck (bassoon).
Streaming on NAS......... moving on to a 2006 release from Wayne with the Gravitas Quartet and I enjoy this album quite a bit. The four musicians and their instruments work well together to produce some wonderful tunes......
Disturbed - The Sound of Silence. Triggered by attending the dance show that my daughter was in at Aylesbury Theatre yesterday: this was one of the songs & the dance that accompanied it just blew me away - an intense reworking of the Simon & Garfunkel classic.
Ok Stones album from 1997 - Playing on Compact Disc
Now Playing........
Antonio Forcione & Sarah Jane Morris - Compared to What
Streaming on TIDAL........ Recent mention of Antonio in another thread prompted me to give one of his albums a spin...... sounding mighty fine indeed!
The Gary Burton Quartet with Eberhard Weber - Passengers

- Bass Guitar – Steve Swallow
- Drums – Dan Gottlieb*
- Electric Guitar – Pat Metheny
- Vibraphone [Vibraharp] – Gary Burton

I just fancied listening to the old classic Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young album again. It certainly captured the post Woodstock vibe.
