Blyth Power, Paradise Razed.

Ripped from a CD I purchased at one of their gigs at the Mean Fiddler in Kilburn in the 90's. Alternative/Folk Rock with some interesting song concepts and lyrics.

Enjoying a few days off, JJ fits the relaxed vibe well.

The ratings are from Rovi, not me, no JJ Cale album deserves less than **** and most deserve *****

Playing very quietly as I’m looking after my youngest who’s had rather an invasive middle ear op.

Gently hypnotic.

Any Other - Silently. Quietly. Going Away

CD (2015)

Random selection while scanning the rack.  CD Baby says it has a 90's Rock vibe and I would have to agree.

Nouvelle Vague - I Could Be Happy

Post-punk and new wave hits covered as acoustic ballads. We all probably need to be sipping a Fanta under a brolly, at a pavement cafe in the south of France. But this is the best I can do.

I believe Doc Cheatham was 90 when this was recorded, nice recording !

Wooden Shjips - V.

Their new album released today, more excellent driving and/or delicate psychedelic riffs that get their influence from those early West Coast years. I just luv these boys style and this is a cracker.

  ZZ Top - Eliminator.

Kicking off this overcast, gloomy, North Yorks. evening with something uplifting ............. some ZZ Top boogie ............. and why not?

Bentley Caldwell - The Place That I Call Home, Tidal

A bit late to the party, but really enjoying my first listen to this. Classy songwriting and excellent musicianship, blues beats mingle with reggae beats, fusing soul and folk sounds, just excellent all around. Another purchase looms.

Glad you like it. I too think it is superb. Just don't buy it from the river from the US as they copy this one to CD-R on demand. Fish Records is your friend here.

  ZZ Top - El Loco.

That's the trouble with ZZ Top ................ once you start .......................

More greasy Texas boogie .............. pure and simple ...................... what's not to like?

Neighbours are oot ............... so, .......................quite LOUD!
