What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Emil Giles - Plays Bach
Recordings from 1948, 1950 and 1968.

It is one of the best live albums I have.
Did you get to take in any of the concerts? We went to one at the Royal Albert Hall - great show, and somehow he seems to defy the dodgy acoustics, or perhaps I've just learned that it pays to sit as close to the stage end as possible.
When i say JUMP you ask HOW HIGH!
Family members are out for a few hours, so am spinning vinyl....
Rag'N'Bone Man - Human
LP5 '10 extras' from this box set...
Vinyl spinning continues with...
REM - Out of Time
Excellent selection of tracks and sound/recording.
On vinyl...
The Barr Brothers - "The Barr Brothers" (2011) wonderful Canadian band with a mixture of rock, americana, and pop. Brad Barr is a genius-original in my book. In the last seven years, this band has been making music I cannot live without.
Eternal Summers - Silver
CD (2010)
Indie pop duo, playing guitar and drums. Catchy tunes.
The Black Crowes-Croweology
CD (2014)
This was near Eternal Summers' albums, and haven't listened to in a while. Indie rock.
Mr. Twin Sister - "Mr. Twin Sister" (2014) a favorite of the last 5 years, though I didn't find it there first, this was a top pick by Pitchfork (if you are a fan-boy of reviewer drivel). I can't categorize this, go with Pitchfork or do your own research. I just know I love it.
Ryan Adams-Heartbreaker
First album played after switching on again after the thunderstorms have passed. Donald Byrd, Slow Drag. Cool!
CD (2016)
Continuing on with Indie rock/pop. Think I first heard this band on NC State's radio station, wknc.org.
Slight change of direction (!) after Donald Byrd. I was minded to play this after reading part of a thread on ATC loudspeakers, which reminded me of my first experience of Kudos 707s, playing this album, where I heard a cabinet resonance which was excited in the lower mid-range, which i cannot repeat with the NBLs, thankfully.

I wholeheartedly agree Jeff. I've just discovered them through Sleeping Operator and Queen of the Breakers and will be investigating their earlier work.

Oh yes. Cracking good album - and title.
Thanks for the reminder/prod Alba.

Bear's Den - "Island" (2014)
My God, I hate "why would anyone be interested". I have no idea. Try YouTube, Tidal, Spotify, etc, etc, etc or ask gdam Adam Meredith. I am not talking sound when I post or even recommendation, I am talking music (and I am saddened if your equipment choices have made some of your music unlistenable, I had nothing to do with that and it don't make the music bad). And I have no idea what Mr. Me-Me-Me likes.
I have a thought, try a listen and make up your own mind. Then I will watch what you play and you can watch what I play and, perhaps, we might agree from time to time. And perhaps have made a friend. Or ask a question and I will answer it if I can. Do your research and tell you what you need to do ?- that ain't happening on my posts.
If I have what I think is a valuable comment, I will be glad to make it. I don't have the music-writing skills of Floretstan, or EJS or Gary Shaw. I am sick of thinking people are looking over my shoulder and people taking shots here or from other threads at me and my friends here. Somebody took the initiative to start a thread to circumvent this one and half the contributors bad mouthed this thread. Screw you people who are so darn self-absorbed and self-righteous. And I don't give a crap what device you are reading it on. I don't need to meet your gdam personal needs.
But I would love to share music with you and continue to be given exploring opportunities by you as so many have given me ie; Ewen, PatK, Voltaire, Lontano, MilesSmiles, Mike Hughes, JamesN, MDS, etc, etc, etc. I am eternally grateful to these people and many others. They have helped make the last 15 years of my life bearable.
I am not sure any of you are interested in why I wrote that, just as I am not sure what broke the camel's back. But I am not deleting it. I am going to listen to music and share when I feel like it or until my membership is deleted.
P.S. Bear's Den is great if you like that kind of music. And I am eternally grateful to Naim that this space is available, for the moment.
Now Playing........
Fink - Distance and Time
Streaming on NAS....... Kicking off this Sunday morning with a little Fink, ......and it is sounding mighty fine!

The above is pretty much the only "earlier one" but I can recommend some wonderful YouTube videos especially when they make radio show visits and play up to 30 minutes. Good listening, Jeff A

I now have 7 new-to-me-albums to listen to in my PatK folder. I hope you and your daughter are well. Thanks, Jeff A
