Slight change of direction (!) after Donald Byrd. I was minded to play this after reading part of a thread on ATC loudspeakers, which reminded me of my first experience of Kudos 707s, playing this album, where I heard a cabinet resonance which was excited in the lower mid-range, which i cannot repeat with the NBLs, thankfully.
That album certainly has some bass, Clive. I must give it a listen again soon.
Having tried and loved Cara Dillon's Wanderer album, which was recommended to me on here, I thought I should get more of Cara's work. This album, Sweet Liberty, was also recommended to me and it arrived today so am now giving it a first play. An instant hit with me. .
This thread is great. Through others, I always see to be discovering new artists that I very much enjoy.
The family is back, so CD rip's from now on...
Kamasi Washington - The Epic
Not sure that I can get through all 3 discs in one sitting!
YellowJackets - Altered state
Now Playing......
Fink - Hard Believer

CD (2016)
Continuing on with Indie rock/pop. Think I first heard this band on NC State's radio station, wknc.org.
I now have 7 new-to-me-albums to listen to in my PatK folder. I hope you and your daughter are well. Thanks, Jeff A
A band that seemed to slipped past me. Will need to listen. Thanks Patk.
This is a really great 2nd album from Bentley Caldwell.
It's going down very well on this Sunny bank holiday Sunday evening with a very cold beer!
CD (2013)
I have never seen this movie, but I really like Explosions In The Sky and bought this without a second thought. I just love listening to it. To me it is mellow and can put me in a relaxed mood. If you are familiar with the band, it is less "heavy" than their other albums, but still a textured sound.

Hi Jeff,
We are doing well, thank you. She is almost done with 6th grade! I hope you are well, too.
I hope you like some of these. I've been enjoying finding them. Thanks for the Barr Brothers post; I plan to check them out as well.
Best,
pat

The Barr Brothers - "The Barr Brothers" (2011) wonderful Canadian band with a mixture of rock, americana, and pop. Brad Barr is a genius-original in my book. In the last seven years, this band has been making music I cannot live without.
I wholeheartedly agree Jeff. I've just discovered them through Sleeping Operator and Queen of the Breakers and will be investigating their earlier work.
The above is pretty much the only "earlier one" but I can recommend some wonderful YouTube videos especially when they make radio show visits and play up to 30 minutes. Good listening, Jeff A
I've seen some of the YouTube clips and, in part, this is what encouraged me to buy their albums. They remind me a little bit of The Low Anthem. They use some unusual instruments as well - you don't seem to get many harpists in the rock/pop world!
Fabulous Yes album - My favorite album of the original line - the musicianship is breathtaking.
Playing on Vinyl on Atlantic Records 1977
JeffA I had heard rumours of a new Matthew Ryan album and here it is.
He has joined up with the ambient band The Summer Kills for this album.
Quite a departure for him.
Love to H

Fink - Sort of Revolution
Streaming on NAS......... Continuing on with Fink.......
Listening to some trax off the new Florence and the Machine album.
Coming out end of June
Is this my favourite of Percy's solo albums? Possibly, although I do like the first three too. Currently playing 29 Palms (again) which is perfect for this late Spring sunny evening. Playing loud!
