On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Playing this AC/DC album as it was meant to be played - LOUD. This is their best live album IMHO, with the late, great, Bon Scott. You can just feel the energy in this performance.
Totally with you Clive on your comments. Its got to be one of the most best live recordings -you can really feel the energy coming off stage like no other Live gig.A bit bright recording wise.....but the energy.....I was lucky to see them in 1979 at the Brighton Center with Bon and they seriously rocked
Playing on Compact Disc a fine Stephen Stills solo album from 1975- we seem to be having a Stills fest at the moment here in the Music Room and why not hes great.I have a mate who back in the day brought a American Football shirt just like Stills is wearing as hommage.....must ask him if he still has it.
CD (2009)
Wish I could remember who mentioned this last week; but being a fan, I ran to my River tab and ordered.
I never realized this was out, so thank you, forum.
Always love hearing this it paints such a great musical picture of hot days in Mali and the guitar in Amadrai is bloody brilliant - Playing on Compact Disc
John Taylor - Requiem For A Dreamer
It's just the right time of day.
With thanks to a gf for buying me this CD.
Now Playing......
Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Streaming on NAS........ A little something from 25 years ago and Sarah is sounding mighty sweet this morning!
Bentley Caldwell - The Place That I Call Home.
Arrived today, now ripped and streaming, and sounding just fine, regardless of the fact that The River say that "this product is
manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media."
A great album, which seems to be catching on with forum users here ......................... recommended.
Playing on Compact Disc - Just love this album "Juke box hero " always hits the spot bigtime.....perfect for the last hour in the office
Pink Floyd
The Wall (2011 Remaster) - CD Rip
Absolute classic.

Dave, I am still waiting for my 'CD-R' copy of this from the river. I was planning to return it and buy from another source which is not a CD-R copy, but as you say the SQ is fine I may keep it. I assume your ripped CD-R of this sounds better than Tidal?

I sometimes find it difficult to discern much difference between CD rips and streamed music, which means either that I am receiving a "High Tide" version of Tidal, or that my ageing ears are just not up to it!
Either way, this sounds great to me, so I won't be going to the trouble of returning it to The States.
Sorry if this isn't much help.
In fairness this must have been a brave enough move in 1968, as to me there is quite a country influence in many of the songs as much as A blues influence.
Helped of course by 2 era defining singles, both brave releases in their own way too. Don’t remember too much of this as a 2 year old, anyone hear who remembers this release or actually bought it at the time?

Yes, if my memory serves me correctly!
Now Playing......
Shelby Lynne - Just A Little Lovin'
Streaming on NAS........ A fantastic voice, listening to Shelby cover Dusty Springfield is a special treat, just love this album!
(2017)
One of my favourite albums from last year, what a great surprise this was finding the Stones bang on form playing great new numbers that could have easily appeared on any of their albums fifty years ago. Good stuff, worthy of a belter award.

Me, too.
The xx - Coexist
Those 'tasks' I mentioned earlier don't seem to be getting done. But what an album on a Naim set.
The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet.
OK, I hear ya both, ................ it's a Strolling Bones afternoon, ...................... so here's SLOOPJOHNB's earlier shout.
In mono, just as it should be. IMHO.
Now Playing.......
Hootie and the BLow Fish - Cracked Rear View
Streaming on NAS........ A random pick and an album I have not listened to for awhile, and the vocals and music is sounding sweet!

Care to share any memories of its original release?

Alone on R4. Their best offering in the 6.30 slot for me. Unfortunately, the last of the series.

Well, I was still at school at the time, school being divided into maybe 70% / 30% Beatles v Stones fans, and since my mum and dad liked the Beatles, there was only one serious choice for me.
I hadn't been convinced by the previous album, "Their Satanic Majesties Request", too psychedelic and Sgt.Pepper-like for me, so this seemed a proper return to the Stones' blues and country roots.
Suffice to say it received a sound hammering on the Dansette, and remains, still, a great album. IMHO.
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed.
Oh well, in for a penny ............................... again, from the mono boxset, just as it should be, with, of course, "Gimme Shelter",
probably my own, all time, favourite Stones track.
