Just now found this in the garage. A sealed freebe cd from Mojo 2012 amongst a big bag full of sandpaper ?

(1981)

Hall & Oates - Private Eyes

Some very good soft rock tunes on here in their trademark and unmistakeable 'bouncy' H & A style, was it really 37 years ago sheesh?!

Drummer did a 20 minute drum solo during a one and half hour show. Half the audience left during it.

You have tickled my memory - in the 60's didn't every drummer have to be fluent in the drum solo to "Wipeout" ?  It was a mandatory 10+ minute exercise in every show.  Am I remembering correctly.  Found this little guy on YouTube, perhaps he will team-up with Jeff Beck and Tai Wilkenfeld as a trio with the band-name Generations.

Mandy Moore  -  "Wild Hope"  (2007)  a very decent pop album, many of the songs are co-writes by Mandy and Steve & Deb of The Weepies

Dary Hall - Soul Alone

I have to give this fine solo album a listen after Hall and Oates. Lovely blue eyed soul that was musically well backed up and nicely produced.

Love those early 'hogs albums, Mike. Split was transformational for me!

Just A Minute on R4.

Gyles Brandreth is standing in for Nicholas. Bit laboured. But to be fair, he's having a go.

Stephen Stills and Judy Collins  -  "Stills & Collins" (2017)

Posted on: 04 June 2018 by Stevee_S

(2004)

This is the hot 'n hard version of the original album, basically the dynamic range has been cranked up to make it all sound harder hitting and louder, it works extremely well on what was already a very good album released twenty years earlier doing takes on the LZ stuff.

Yep, the "red cover" version is the one to have, though I was listening quite happily to the "brown cover" one for years until this one was released.

As you rightly say, it simply improved on what was already a great album ............. oh, and the DVD ain't 'arf bad either.
