On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Qobuz 24/96 streaming;

New one due out think 20th June.
I am listening to Requiem for my Friend composed by Zbigniew Preisner on CD. This haunting collection of baritones and sopranos is eerily beautiful yet distinctly divine. The darkness descends demonically close to eternal purgatory before being transformed into the light of life. A new life.

I’ll be away on holiday so it’s on the list with Kamasi Washington which is out around the same time. ????
Metronomy - Love Letters
A band that never really gained traction with forumites. Puzzling.
Great live too the once that I saw them in the Wedge, Portsmouth.
Electronic pop.

I bought it in Malaga when I was on holiday. Used to be able to buy a lot with the Peseta.
Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits
Vinyl re-issue.

You are more than welcome Ian. I am glad that you are enjoying Nigel at his very best.
Originally released 1960 and it’s so good. ????
David Gilmour
Rattle That Lock - 24/96
David’s best solo album IMHO.

Hailey Tuck was a guest on Michael Ball’s Radio 2 show yesterday (yes, I know, but I am retired) and I really liked her stuff, so bought the album. It’s a bit Melody Gordotesque, but she is her own person and it’s really very good.

Ah thanks Nigel - heard her too, liked her music but didn't catch her name.

HH, likewise CD should be with me on Friday.
Viktoria Mullova with COE under Abbado, Vivaldi Four Seasons, WAV CD rip
I have no idea why the picture is of a totally different performance (apart possibly from tagging the rip whilst savouring a fine red), this is definitely the Mullova COE recording, I love the pace and timing that she and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe bring to this, they bring out the joy of the music, the entry to the 2nd movement of Spring had me tapping every limb as they make it so compelling. I fancied this recording after the conversation earlier about the piece.
Released 1994 - Long time since I played this, but still sounding great. ????
Produced by Rickie Lee Jones.
Leo Kottke - guitar, vocals
Dean Parks - electric guitar
Van Dyke Parks - accordion
John Leftwich - bass
Bill Berg - drums
Brad Dutz - percussion
Rickie Lee Jones, Syd Straw, Teresa Tudbury - vocals

Goodness me, all these old people listening to Radio 2!! The album is very good.

Hope the album is better than the cover ????
Yes the cover is not to my liking either and not that flattering - I just had a listen on Qobuz to see what kind of music it was - I thought the fire aspect was a bit of a coincidence after seeing the Rage Against The Machine cover a few posts before.
She seems to be quite a talented singer/songwriter but the album is quite mixed, seems a bit like Kirsty McColl in places. If you have a streaming service give it a whirl, I have a sneaking suspicion her older stuff might be better.
She was part of a very good album with k d lang and Laura Viers. It’s great that some women don’t produce albums where they are presented as commodities - good on her.

Furnace Room Lullaby is a great album ????

I have to admit that the album is completely different to anything the cover suggests - I had no idea if it was some goth/metal/rock/alternative/punk/indie group or an individual, and I was rather surprised at the sound of the first track after the few bars when I feared some new age 'crystally' elevator music.
