On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Allan Taylor
Color To The Moon CD Rip
Edward
Vinyl released 2013 on Fat Possum - Some blinding blues from Mr Belfour. ????
Elton John - Greatest Hits (1974), original vinyl
Prompted by the earlier posts. It’s fantastic, rock/soft-rock. Elton/Taupin wrote fantastic pop/rock songs with amazing pace and class, Elton sang them brilliantly and his piano rocked, as did the bands who played. Great fun rock music.

After discussing Elton John thought I'd play the album that followed Honky Chateau ,and that is Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player .Must admit I do tend to skip "Crocodile Rock" though

Alan, how can you??? One of the great kitsch-rock songs.

Easy Star All Stars - Dub Side of the Moon, WAV CD rip
I’m pretty sure this is the world’s greatest dub reggae cover band, here taking on prog’s most famous album. It’s brilliant, a heavy dub beat, reggae vocal improv, but it’s somehow so fatheful, great for reggae and Floyd fans both.
Have a bash at "Dubber Side of the Moon" more of the same, just heavier.
You might also enjoy this one:
DubXanne - Police In Dub.
Totally bonkers versions of The Police catalogue ............ great fun .............. oh, and it's on Tidal, so why not?
Thanks Dave, I’ll have a listen tomorrow.
Young Marble Giants - Colossal Youth
One of a top five of my most sentimentally treasured records. Great music. Not sure there's anything like it.
Now moved to this fine album...
(1993)
Ozric Tentacles - Jurassic Shift
Final album of today.
Vinyl released 1995 - Great album this, a brilliant performance by two top musicians. One to have.
Alison Moyet - Voice, a nice bit of class on an album of covers from Alf.
,
Richard Thompson - Acoustic Classics II - original vinyl
Great English folk-rock/Americana singer/songwriter and master guitarist, playing some of his finest songs with his own acoustic backing, brilliant stuff.

At the time I remember being really quite excited to hear what this latest 'super group' could do but in the event being very underwhelmed. Coming back to the album many years later I've come to appreciate its merits. Maturity, maybe?!
Or better playbacks well?
Phil
Finishing off with this excellent album from 2001. ????
Now Playing.......
John Hiatt - Terms of My Surrender
Streaming on TIDAL........ following up and taking another John Hiatt album out for a spin, one that I am familiar with, enjoy quite a bit and highly recommend!
Released 1977 - Vinyl
Now Playing........
Charles Lloyd & The Marvels - I Long To See You
Charles Lloyd (tenor sax, flute, Bill Frisell: (guitar), Greg Leisz (slide guitar) Reuben Rogers: (bass), Eric Harland (drums). Guests: Willie Nelson (voice), and Norah Jones (voice).
Streaming on TIDAL........ A mention from EWEMON of the album due for release at the end of June "Charles Lloyd & The Marvels + Lucinda Williams - Vanished Gardens" prompted me to take out the "Charles Lloyd & The Marvels - I Long To See You" out for a spin. The album is sounding mighty fine and ordered the album and pre-ordered Vanished Gardens as well.
