On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Double vinyl released 2015 - All is ok on this one. Fine album ????
Billy Stewart - Unbelievable
If you like the Gershwin song 'Summertime', you should check out Billy Stewart's version. That one is amazing, imo.
Record 2 of this four-LP live set.
Now Playing......
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Streaming on TIDAL........ Jumping back 33 years, and it's not because "I want my MTV" but do love this album........
On CD:-
The Cure - Mixed Up
Released 2018 - A standout soul album. ????
Elizabeth Watts - Bach Cantatas
Art Department. The Drawing Board.
2010, a couple of guys really did go back to the drawing board when it came to house music.
Deeply sentimental.
Qobuz 24/96 streaming;
Really good Dub Syndicate album to Kick back too - Playing on Cassette on TDK D90
The Rolling Stones - Totally Stripped.
Still buzzing from seeing these old geezers in Manchester on Tuesday, so there's been little else playing Chez Dave, I'm afraid.
Final one for today, before setting out to see Engerland play at Elland Road tonight ............... busy old week ............phew!
(2003)
This one dropped on the doormat this morning, what a fine way to kick back and enjoy yet another fabulous hot sunny late afternoon with about eighty minutes of some of Morcheeba's finest.
DubXanne - Police in Dub, Tidal
As recommended by DaveMarshall last night, this is great fun. Heavily dubbed up versions of Police songs, it’s completely mad, but works brilliantly fun reggae beats and those lovely Police tunes.
Vinyl released 1996 - More minimalistic than his other albums. But still a good listen. ????
Joe Henderson - Multiple
Record 3 of the Floyd's Pulse 4-LP box.
Qobuz 16/44.1 streaming;
Can't understand a word of it (Polish) but her voice is a perfect match for Metheny's style of playing.
The last Linkin Park earlier this afternoon...
Released 2014 - Disc 1 from this excellent box set. ????
2000 - CD(rip)...
1999 - CD(rip)...
Double vinyl. A compilation of tough, urban jazz-funk. An antidote to that rather clinical, soporific Floyd live album.
My one and only Joan Osborne album. Must get some more.
