What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Tabby cat posted:+1 and all that Dave for Talking Timbuktoo.Fabulous album. So atmospheric and dreamy on some tracks. The guitar work out between Ry and Ali on Amandrai is fabulous - Essential album for any collection in my opinion
Agreed, this should be in everyone's collection.
Mind you, Ali Farka Toure has had some other great collaborations too, and these two are definitely worth a listen.
Again, they're on Tidal.
Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Diabate - Ali & Toumani. Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Diabate - In The Heart Of The Moon.
Was playing...... ( I had posted this in the wrong thread and moved it where it belongs!)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - Come On Come On
Streaming on NAS........ One of my favorite Mary Chapin Carpenter albums, not a bad song on this album, and I don't believe she has a bad album either.....
Great Psychedelic Folk album by United States Band Espers - The Weed Tree - Incredible atmospheric and their Vocalist has a very pure heavenly Voice - Playing on Compact Disc on Locust Records 2005

Espers were fab. One of my favourites is The Weed Tree mini album. Mostly covers, including this wonderful, wonderful (and most unlikely) version of Blue Oyster Cult’s Flaming Telepaths. Winds up about half way through into a proper psych wig-out.
Now Playing.......
Dave Matthews Band - Come Tomorrow
Streaming on TIDAL...... New Dave Matthews Band album released today and available on TIDAL, also ordered on the river. I do enjoy Dave's music!
Justin Adams - Desert Road.
Still on the desert trance blues vibe, this one, Justin's debut solo album is a stunner, and points the way to much of his subsequent
work, both under his own name, and with Robert Plant's Sensational Space Shifters ........................ highly recommended,
and available on Tidal.
Rebekka Bakken
Little Drop of Poiso - Tidal HiFi
Recived an email from Tellurium about a video review of “Black 2 speaker cable”, ‘‘this is one of the albums used in the review.
Half was through the album and enjoying what I am hearing.

Espers - The Weed Tree
Joining Ian (Tabby Cat) and Nick with Espers, downloaded from bandcamp a few years ago.
In 1991, Metallica released their self-titled fifth studio album more commonly known as The Black Album under Electra Records. Time to enter the weekend with some really hard hitting bass lines. Listening loud on CD.

Thanks Guys - Espers are....where great.I think they all lived together in a Commune in some woods no less !
Black is the Colour which I think is a cover is a favourite, but all their stuff is very atmospheric and haunting - quite unique
Thanks for your comments on my posting of Espers - So nice to exchange music and get inspiration when you get those what should I play moments at home
Wishing you all a fine weekend
Russell Malone - Butterfly.

Ian, wishing you a fine weekend too the seemingly endless blue skies and warm weather are continuing here. If you fancy some more "contemporary" psychedelic rock then give Heron Oblivion's eponymous debut (full album) a go it's available via bandcamp and I think its been Tidalized too.
(1972)
Family - Bandstand
Roger Chapman's unique voice fronting up more fine prog' rock from Family. I've always had a soft spot for this band ever since I first heard them in '68, this is yet another return for a drink at the well.
Michael Brecker - Tales from the Hudson
Oscar Peterson trio - Live at the Blue Note
Summer has hit Dublin.
.sjb
Fink - Fink's Sunday Night Blues Club.
More trance blues, this one from the Finkster, something of a departure from his usual choons, but a stunning album, nevertheless.
It's no doubt been played to death by forum members here, but for anyone who hasn't heard it yet, it's on Tidal.
Rod Stewart - The Very Best Of, a decent selection of tracks from his early solo albums ,well before he'd heard of "Sailing"
Great stuff
At the end of a long and tiring week I fancied listening to something with energy and oomph. This seems to fit the bill.
(2014)
Goat - Commune
On with some more contemporary psychedelic rock with a very good take on it by this fine off beat Swedish outfit who (until their latest album) make great music that draws you in with it's compulsive rhythms and beats.
Christy Moore - Smoke & Strong Whiskey - original UK vinyl
The great Irish folk-rock pioneer in an album which is nearer to rock, but still inescapably Irish. His usual assortment of originals and covers, with angry political songs, tender ballads and rabble-rousing singalongs, sung fantastically by a master vocalist, with as usual for Christy superb backing musicians. A high energy album to start the weekend.
Explored for me some new stuff, have to listen more to get to a final verdict...
Then continued with his most recent album...
