On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Yes - Fragile - CD
Just reminding myself what it sounds like!
Phil
Qobuz 24/48 streaming;
1972 - Tidal. Allman Bros - Eat A Peach
Listening to Mountain Jam in its glorious 33 minutes live version. No better way to start the weekend on this lovely sunny Saturday morning.
Good album of REM out takes and B Sides - Great cover of "Pale Blue Eyes " by The Velvet Underground - Playing on Vinyl on IRS Records 1987
Mozart - Quintets for Stings and Clarinet/Oboe - LP
One of the best, sounding at it best. No regrets about parting with the 282!
Phil
On vinyl. Scott goes all angularly orchestral in his last outing, a soundtrack for an underrrated movie by up-and-coming director Bady Corbett.
1962 - Tidal...

Very sad news that Danny Kirwan has passed away - RIP
This is sad news, he was so very good for such a brief few years with Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac he had the ability to play and write with such delicate sensitivity, struggling with mental health issues and alcoholism. Dragonfly is a beautiful piece highlighting his early style (The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac). Fleetwood Mac's Bare Trees is a bit of a forgotten album these days, he penned quite a number of tracks on it.
On vinyl, from the Erykah Badu-curated box set, Fela's masterful Army Arrangement album...
Robust album of the great John Lee Hooker with loads of special guests on it including Bonnie Raitt - Charlie Musslewhite - Carlos Santana - Los Lobos - Robert Cray - Playing on Vinyl on Silvertone Records 1987
Started this morning with this fine version....
Then moved to Tharraud, not the best but still very good...
Quick listen to this then, worthwhile to have a closer look at this...
Don’t know about this one, should also have listened a bit longer to have a real opinion...
Enjoying this now, fantastic album...

Giving this a go now and 2 songs in sounds like a new purchase for me in the near future.
This one pleases...
Prompted by Bert, this great album from 1985

If you like that, try this :
Cyril Davies - Preachin' The Blues.
More of the same really, as Cyril was an Alexis Korner stalwart for many years.
This has virtually everything he ever recorded, including his work with his own outfit, The Allstars.
Best of all, much of this double album is there on Tidal.
Original vinyl from way back!
Now Playing........
Justin Adams - Desert Road
Streaming on NAS.......... A mention from DAVE MARSHALL the other day reminded me I needed to take "Desert Road" out for a spin. It has been awhile, and the album i sounding fantastic! A very nice album to kick off this Saturday morning........
Just playing Dragonfly (several times) composed by Danny Kirwan during his years years with Fleetwood Mac a delightfully delicate piece of rock music beautifully played.
