On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Eric Clapton and Friends - The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale
Chris,
I think Lynyrd Skynyrd's version is quite good too.
Now Playing.......
Kasey Chambers - The Captain
Streaming on TIDAL....... Taking Kasey out for a spin this Monday morning, strong vocals with a very nice band backing her, enjoy her music.
Nouvelle Vague - I Could Be Happy
Feels hip to me
Released 2003 - Nice laid back blues album from Mr Carlton. ????
(1971)
Pink Floyd - Meddle
One of my favourite Floyd albums with which to start off the week. A great album that has been a constant in my musical life ever since it was first released. This one ripped from a very fine sounding original Toshiba - EMI label CD (Black Triangle) from 1988.
We where staying at old friends this weekend and got talking about music etc. and our host lent me his copy on Compact Disc and told me the story of the concert.I have seen this famous album posted many times here.Sounds really nice - very relaxing and cerebral.....the piano seems to hang in the air on my Quad Electrostatics......bliss
The Ministry of Sound often release EDM compilations, and if you like progressive mixed to the sound of bounce then this is highly recommended. The SQ is excellent and these beats will push your speakers to the limit of timing and decay. I am listening to CD two of three.
The Friends of Mr. Cairo - Jon & Vangelis
Now Playing......... a TIDAL playist
Madeleine Peyourx - On My Own (On my Own)
Elvis Costello - Someone Else's Heart ( Someone Else's Heart)
Manchester Orchestra (I Know How To Speak)
Highland Soldier - Sam Sweeney - (Highland Soldier)
Neil Finn, Liam Finn - Back To Life (Back To Life)
Charles Lloyd and the Marvels - We've Come to Far To Turn Around - Vanished Gardens (featuring Lucinda Williams)
Prince - Mary Don't You Weep (Mary Don't You Weep)
Norah Jones - My Heart Is Full (My Heart Is Full)
Becky Hill - Sunrise In The East - (Sunrise In The East)
Kasey Chambers - Now That You've Gone - Campfire
Kacey Musgraves - Love is Wild Thing - Golden Hour
Charles Lloyd and the Marvels - Defiant - Vanished Gardens
Streaming on TIDAL...... Choose a dozen songs from recent released or to be released albums to mix things up.

Aloysius - Cocteau Twins (from ‘Treasure’)
I don’t think they made a better complete album than this. Sure, it’s fey and occasionally whimsical, but oh my - that voice...
Nick, "that voice" indeed! Who knows what she's singing about, but it really doesn't matter.

Super album that, Stephen. You've reminded me to stick into my to be played playlist.
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird
Gosh, this is good.

When I visited [@mention:1566878603998391] he played this album (in particular Fields of Gold) and it was astounding. A beautifully recorded double album.
Released 1997 - Fine laid back soft funk. ????
(1987)
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Let Me Up (I've Had Enough)
Why? Why Not, this is a bit of an under appreciated TP&TH album IMHO. Well recorded with a lovely SQ there are great tunes here well worth revisiting.
Lee 'Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters - The Trojan Albums Collection (1971 - 1973).
Africa's Blood, the first album from this 4 X CD set, which is something of a bargain at less than six squid on The River.
On 1980s vinyl. The title track is, in my opinion, one of the most majestic pieces of music ever recorded. I've asked for it to be played at my funeral...
2012 - Tidal...

Eric Clapton - Sessions For Robert J, excellent live in the studio takes on Robert Johnson songs.Knocks spots off the rather anemic Me and Mr Johnson album that proceeded it.
A far more satisfying album altogether, the "one take, no overdubs" approach worked much better.
The accompanying DVD's pretty good too, IMHO.
the dvd is brilliant, such a shame my present Panasonic Blu ray player won't read it
(1990)
The Vaughan Brothers - Family Style
What a great album for the Vaughan family to enjoy and appreciate, the boys doing their thing very, very well indeed. Such a sadness it was that SRV was taken from us way too young in that chopper crash.

Agreed, but not any time soon there Kevin!
Released 2004 - A splendid album from one of America’s best bands. ????
George Harrison - Living in The Material World, an earnest and spiritual album which can weigh down some of the songs but the music is top notch.

I thought Mary Black's version of Fields of Gold was the best........until I heard Eva's.
Luxuriating in the lovely voice of Alison K (again )
