Eva Cassidy - Nightbird

Gosh, this is good.

When I visited [@mention:1566878603998391] he played this album (in particular Fields of Gold) and it was astounding. A beautifully recorded double album.

I thought Mary Black's version of Fields of Gold was the best........until I heard Eva's.

I agree, she's poignantly incredible.

2014 - Spotify...

In 2014, Ministry of Sound released a triple album Eat Sleep Rave Repeat under their own label. This is a seriously good mix of electronic, deep/electro house, hip hop, d&b and trap. The SQ is also excellent. This is an absolute must have album for those that like hard beats and bass that you can feel. Listening very loud on CD.

Really nice Dub Reggae album - Every track has a London area in its name - Playing on Vinyl on Tough Scout Records 2014 - Technics Sl 1210  is digging deep with those bass lines

Had an interesting listening journey the 2nd part of today. Every time I hear this album I start to appreciate it more...

Then moved to this one, same story it grows on me. At first I was not convinced and saw it just as another Keith, but on every run I start hearing other aspects, which draw me in more...

This album is a bit more challenging. It has some great moments but also some more challenging pieces...

Good modern jazz album next. Not super modern, but entertaining and very good piano playing...

The last one for this evening, great piano play on top of a driving rhythm section...

Yes, such a loss and before her career had a chance to really take off. At least her music lives on…..

   Robert Plant - Manic Nirvana.

Time to crank up the volume somewhat for Percy ................. who's not quite ready yet to let go of the Zep vibe.

After albums from '73 and '74  thought I'd follow with one from '75

Eric Clapton - There's One in Every Crowd , a delightful mix of gospel. spirituals, reggae, blues and pop.

  Robert Plant - Dreamland.

If the last one ^ was Planty hanging onto the Zep feel, then this one is definitely a pointer to the future sounds of Strange Sensation

and The Sensational Space Shifters, with Justin Adams, John Baggott and Charlie Jones onboard.

Released in 2002, many of the choons would not sound out of place on his current album, IMHO.............highly recommended.

Manchester Orchestra - A Black Mile To The Surface

Streaming on TIDAL......  First time taking a Manchester Orchestra album out for a spin, enjoy the music, lyrics and the layered vocals in the first couple of tracks. The album cover artwork also grabbed my attention.......
