Cheers Minh, good to have you back on the forum, Alan
Keith Richards - Talk Is Cheap, his well received debut album released during The Stones hiatus. Its aged very well.
Laura Veirs - Year of Meteors
Seems to be a morning of old favourites.
Paul McCartney - Paul is Live, somebody posted the Off the Ground album recently so I thought I'd give the live album from that era a spin.To be fair quite a bit of that LP is featured along with the usual hits and Beatles tunes. His voice is in good nick at least.
Super album.
I've listened to this numerous times via Qobuz streaming in CD quality (not available in HiRes), and recently ordered the LP from Amazon.
Just stuck the vinyl on my LP12 and what a completely different presentation, seems to go an octave lower and there's so much more rhythm and boogie.
It's a grower of an album with several great tracks and a couple of tedious ones in my view, but I may turn out to prefer it to the original.
Elvis Presley - Rockin', a comp from The Ultimate Collection series, does what it says on the tin with some later tracks featuring instead of all the usual early suspects.
Now Playing.......
Joan Osborne - Relish
Streaming on NAS....... A mention from DAVE MARSHALL yesterday reminded me that I have not played this album in quite awhile, so starting the day with Joan. Joan has a great voice that grabs your attention, a wonderful album!
A little before my time, William Byrd (1512-1623):
Gustav Leonhardt, harpsichord.
Sting - All This Time, a live album from 2001,well recorded and filmed at his Italian villa.
Now Playing.........
Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now
Streaming on NAS......... Switching up the pace and taking Joni out for a spin. As always, she is sounding fantastic!
On vinyl...
On CD:-
John Hiatt - Perfectly Good Guitar
Tasmin Archer - Great Expectations, an accomplished 1992 debut that included the UK No 1 "Sleeping Satellites".
Now Playing.......
Faith Hill - Take Me As I Am
Streaming on NAS.......... Going back 24 years to the days when I lived in Texas and breaking out Faith and taking her out for a spin. A little country on this Wednesday morning, sounding sweet.......
Melody Gardot - Currency Of Man
Blimey, what a belter!
Now Playing........
Robbie McIntosh - Thanks Chet
Streaming on TIDAL...... New release, June 8, 2018, from Robbie and taking it out for a spin...... Sounding mighty mellow this Wednesday morning.
Silje Nergaard - For You A Thousand Times
Another wonderful songstress, brought to you from chez NigelB. Give this gal a go, she has a wonderful voice and some interesting choons.
One of my all time favourites
Tori Amos - Under the Pink - CD
Haven’t played this for a while. She has a beautiful voice and is quite different to most other singers. Exciting stuff, that is sounding better than ever.
Played Norah Jones - Come Away with Me earlier.

Minh Nguyen posted:This morning begins with a beautiful collection of Cello Suites composed by Bach and performed by Yo-Yo Ma. This is probably one of the best recordings that I have come across and in my humble opinion it surpasses the recording he made in the 1980s. The bow dances with the strings and both resonate harmoniously. An absolute delight to listen on CD.
Minh, because of this post I went to visit the river and I am now in possession of this beautiful pair of discs. His playing is indeed sublime. They have barely been off since they arrived. Thank you.
