On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

The Band - The Last Waltz, a fantastic concert and a must see if anybody has not seen the film.
Superb album. Stellar lineup and what a night that must have been.

Yes ,I went to see the film primarily to watch Clapton but was most impressed by everybody else instead.
After listening to her appearing with The Band its time for a bit of Joni and Court and Spark.
Bryan Ferry - Streaming via Tidal
The Phil Collins Big Band - A Hot Night in Paris, a live recording of mostly solo and Genesis material instrumentals ,with Collins remaining behind his kit.The songs chosen translate to the big band genre pretty well and its well recorded.
the old vinyl copy I have is not in such good condition -- so I bought a replacement -- but in CD format. Not as good as the vinyl, but it'll do...
enjoy

Awesome guitar playing on this early album.

Yep, the artists there are a core part of my record/rip collection, and a great recording, I Shall Be Released is an amazing finale. And I love the sheer scale, I know, we’ll do a gig to finish the group, we’ll have a Beatle, a Stone (I think Ronnie had joined them at this point), Dylan, Mitchell, Young, Clapton, Muddy Waters... Maybe we should get it filmed, how about Scorsese? They really didn't think small did they?
1989 - Tidal...
Bringing today's listening session to a close.
Restoration, great country artists covering Elton John and Bernie Taupin songs. WAV CD rip
Friends were in town for the last couple of days, had this playing on the Qb while we ate dinner in the kitchen conservatory, great album , the Elton/Taupin songs are wonderful, and a stellar list of country stars do them justice. My friends commented that it was “more folk than country”.

On vinyl...
I have both a 2nd or 3rd Uk press and a Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab vinyl edition this LP will forever remind me of my mother and of being a child in the 70's.
Tonight's listening -
CD (2015) Enjoyable album, I especially like the closing "Brokedown Palace". Fiona Apple fits in very well with the group.
CD (2018)
Tift Merritt - Stitch of the World
CD (2017) Haven't listen to this as much, so on it goes.
Now Playing.......
Dire Straits - Dire Straits
Streaming on NAS........ Arriving home and felt a little Dire Straits with Mark's vocals and guitar would help straighten me out......

Some of the trax off this coming out on 29th
How did you get to hear this ahead of release? Clearly it’s a must have album, but what’s the SQ like?
Friends in all the right places. It is a condition of my getting to hear pre releases that I am not allowed to comment on them.
Thanks. No worries though, because I’ve found MP3 versions of the album on line. Preordered the double album now.

Still Got The Blues - CD Rip
Garys best album, IMHO.

IMHO too!

A Night at the Opera (2011 Remaster) - Tidal HiFi
Classic Queen.

Isn’t it just?! This was such a creative tour de force. I remember seeing them performing some of these tracks at a free concert in Hyde Park. It was the first time I’d heard the band and I was knocked out particularly by Bohemian Rhspsody, Prophet Song and, of course, the excellent Brighton Rock.
Some Friday morning streaming in advance of the record arriving tomorrow.
It is rather splendid.

I saw the movie in 1978. It introduced me to Van Morrison. His live “Caravan” must be one of the all time great live performances. Period.
Not bad since his manager had to kick him out onto the stage as he was suffering from severe stage fright at the time.
Loma - Toutpartout Sessions
A short unplugged live session from Loma on their recent tour of Europe. The harmonies are especially good. And the album's fab too.
Today's soundtrack
Lori Carson: Everything I Touch Runs Wild
The Paper Kites: Twelvefour
Eagles
Hotel California - 24/96
First album of the day, and what better way to start than with this classic.

Nice easy UK Garage - Alternative Hip - Hop from The Streets to get Friday morning going - Playing on Compact Disc
Easing in with some Grant Green - Green Street, always enjoy Ben Tucker's performance on bass too.
