On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Good solid album by Ali Farka Toure - Playing on Compact Disc on World Circuit Records 1993
The Beat - Here We Go Love!
Streaming this in anticipation of the CD plopping though the letterbox tomorrow.
A blast of bouncy fun-filled ska from the Dave Wakeling incarnation of the Beat, one of my favourite bands from the '80's.
Simple Minds
Walk Between Worlds - Tidal HiFi
Edward
Sade - Diamond Life, continuing with a smooth groove.
Now Playing.......
Django Bates - The Study of Touch
Django Bates (piano), Petter Eldh (double Bass), and Peter Bruun (drums).
Streaming on NAS........... Starting this Friday morning with some music to help me ease into this day. The Study of Touch is a beautiful album that brings a smile to my face.......very, very nice!
Now Playing.......
Eberhard Weber - Endless Days
Eberhard Weber (bass), Paul McCandless (oboe, English horn, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone), Rainer Brüninghaus (piano, keyboards), and Michael DiPasqua (drums, percussion).
Streaming on NAS......... Another beautiful album and just perfect for this Friday morning, magical in its ability to enhance the outlook on the day, at least on this particular morning! Life is grand!
Joe Jackson - Body and Soul.
Wilko Johnson - Blow Your Mind.
Streaming this one, which is due to arrive tomorrow.
The indefatigable Wilko produces the goods, yet again.
Boz Scaggs - Dig
Not one duff track. Very cool.
Strange album, all keep nd of songs which don’t seem to belong together...
Nice jazz album..
Nice new EP

Ron Carter - The golden striker
Ron Carter: Bass; Mulgrew Miller: Piano; Russell Malone: Guitar
Fantastic Negrito - Please Don't Be Dead.
Streaming the final one of tomorrow's expected arrivals, this is a great follow up to the "Oakland" album, which was something of a
forum favourite.
It's available on Tidal, and definitely worth a listen.

The Clarke/Duke Project Vol.1
Jazz-funk at its jazziest and funkiest from two of the finest practitioners of the genre. This one might divide opinion but I have treasured it from my yoof and it holds a special place in my memory. Played this today for the first time in yonks and am loving it (again).
(2009)
Norah Jones - The Fall
Something nice and easy to listen to, featuring the lovely voice of NJ accompanying very enjoyable tunes.
Red Garland - Soul Junction
Just finished listening to this great album by the Red Garland quintet, with some nice solos by Coltrane and Byrd.
- Red Garland - Piano
- John Coltrane - Sax
- Donald Byrd - Trumpet
- Arthur Taylor - Bass
- George Joyner - Drums
Today’s album listening on my Amazon player whilst sweating around the pool.????
(1995)
The Best of the Mamas and Papas
Just a few notes from Norah Jones 'vaguely' reminded me of something so I'm going to scratch the itch and play this compilation from the Mamas & Papas that has so many good songs on it, basically all of their best from the late sixties. Mama (Cass Elliott) had a wonderfully infectious voice that has never been equalled or well imitated. Lovely West Coast late '60s sounds.
Waylon Jennings-This Time
Celebrating the Waylon's birthday while watching Tiger flame at the US Open.
Fantastic Negrito - The Last Days Of Oakland.
Just finished listening to his new one, out tomorrow, so giving this a blast now.
Impossible to categorise, just a hugely entertaining collection of choons.
Previously a big forum favourite, so if you've somehow missed this one, it's on Tidal, so have a bash.
