On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset, just sneaking this one in before the Spain v Portugal match.Great relaxed vibe to this one and a fantastic version of "When The Saints Go Marching In" with Van on sax as a bonus track.
Waylon Jennings-Honky Tonk Heroes
more birthday boy. Looks like SC native, and fellow Coastal Carolina alumnus, will win the US Open unless he has a huge collapse. Playing very well.
The Doors - "The Doors"; "Strange Days"; "Waiting For The Sun"; "The Soft Parade" Prompted by earlier Doors postings, this has been my morning listening.

That must have been a very fine morning Jeff, great stuff. I think the banger needs to be deployed
(1995)
Marillion - Afraid of Sunlight ( Disc one of Two)
Steve Hogarth era Marillion the title track is wonderful and the rest of the album ain't too shabby, a bit of mid-term prog rock.
Big Brother & the Holding Co. - "Cheap Thrills"; The Peanut Butter Conspiracy - "The Great Conspiracy" continuing on with the Ripple, Boones Farm and Hoppin' Gator flashbacks.
Bought on release vinyl
Why? Sumner time...and the livin' is easy...

Fabulous in Places - Although I think it should be a single album - Playing on Compact Disc on RCA Records 1997
1973 - UK first pressing...
This is one of the best records I’ve discovered for a while.
About the album
Marc Sinan’s third ECM release is an evocative duo album with Oğuz Büyükberber which subtly covers a lot of ground. The guitarist and the clarinettist have worked together in many contexts since first meeting in Istanbul a decade ago, and Büyükberber previously appeared on Hasretim: Journey to Anatolia, released in 2013, as well as in Sinan’s music-theatre piece Komitas. The individual musical directions of the two players have effectively converged from opposite poles: Marc was trained as a classical guitarist in the western European tradition, but has increasingly been drawn to improvisation and Turkish material, while Oğuz started out with Turkish music and jazz before exploring free improvisation and contemporary composition. For White, both musicians provide new music. Sinan’s five-part “Upon Nothingness” incorporates his musical response to recordings of songs of Armenian prisoners deported to Germany during the First World War. These historic field recordings are woven into the fabric of Sinan’s pieces, which also make liberal use of electronics, blurring the distinction between the real and the surreal. Oğuz Büyükberber also contributes a series of linked pieces, “There, I-V”, in which both musicians improvise around predetermined pitch sets. White was recorded in Oslo’s Rainbow Studio in October 2016 and produced by Manfred Eicher.
Starting with something soothing after the footie.Julie London - Her Name is Julie Vol2 .
1974 - vinyl- UK pressing....
Jethro Tull, Fifty for Fifty, WAV CD rip
New release 3 CD box-set, 50:Tull,songs picked to celebrate the band’s 50;years. All the tracks you’d expect, and some less obvious choices. The most recent remastered I think, nothing new, but if you like Tull it’s a good compilation of their music from all eras, from prog to folkie to rock, good stuff.
Greta Van Fleet, from the fires. Most exciting band I have heard in decades and got concert tickets today. Hugely recommended, these will be massive
Continuing with the ladies
Rainbow - Long Live Rock and Roll (Vinyl)
Save up your money for a holiday, to Selsey Bill or Bracklesham Bay. My favourite Jam album. Or is it All Mod Cons?
What kind of fool do you think I am?
Crumbs, bought this a few years ago on CD, must have listened via AutoRip on Amazon Music as I've just ripped the sealed copy I found along with a dozen or so unopened discs - going for over £60 on Amazon.

A cracking album, which I bought on vinyl, way back when ............. wore it out on the Dansette, and now have the CD.
Terry never really got the level of recognition / success he deserved, I always felt.
