What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Regarding the above mentioned 'Fixing a Hole' ear worm, well I think playing the album might have done the trick. At least now I have to admit it's getting better. It's getting better all the time.

Is this the definitive JC album? Or Ascension, perhaps?

I much prefer his early stuff Blue Train, Soultrane and his work with Miles Davis I read Miles's biography at the beginning of the year and he said though he loved him and his work he felt that Coltrane sometimes played too many notes and gave too much of himself and that it was always better to hold something back from the audience, to leave them wanting more. I know exactly what he meant by this listen to Ballads and you will hear what Coltrane sounds like when he holds something back because although Love Supreme is a great record at times there is a bit much going on for me to take in. Just my opinion millions would disagree.
Or maybe this one?

Walking Wounded is in my top ten most played records in fact I listened to it last night. I wish I owned a copy on vinyl but it fetches silly money now perhaps if I drop another thousand hints santa may bring it this year.

Now your talking Clive B.
Soothing Classical to make the breakfast - Playing on Compact Disc on Deutsche Grammophon
Now playing my last Coltrane album for today. I think I'll move onto something else after this. But this IS a gem!
Her debut album. This is a great-sounding vinyl reissue on Pure Pleasure Records:
original CD release. Definately top ten for me; more like a film than an album and to be taken whole, as the original packaging says. Rumour has it that the next Spiritualized album will be the last which is a shame for such a talented artist as Jason Pierce.
Steve Winwood - About Time, quite a latin sound and feel to this album where he teams up with drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr and guitarist Jose Neto.Lovely for a Sunday morning.
It is a brilliant work of musical art and poetry. So much of Ian Anderson's body of work in the 70's is so unappreciated. Social and cultural commentary thru metaphors and imagery.
1985 original vinyl
Very early 1980s reissue of 1976 LP, which contained the group's only hit in this country:

Hi G - long time no hear! How are you keeping?
I nearly continued with more Trane (with Monk), then spotted this which is just superb music making.
Tedeschi Trucks Band - Revelator, a great album, I must play "Midnight in Harlem" every week

Yusef Lateef - The Blue Yusef Lateef on Tidal perfect for a Lazy Sunday.
UK second vinyl pressing (from 1979) of classic late '78 UK album; after 20JFGs, I think it's TG's finest.
I bought this when I was in the Lower Sixth at school, and used to be able to empty the 6th Form Common Room simply by slapping this on the record player... can't believe that was 39 years ago now!
