On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Joe Sample - The Pecan Tree
Joe Sample (piano), Jay Anderson (bass),Larry Aberman (drums), Lenny Castro (percussion), Paulinho Da Costa (percussion), James Gadson (drums), Dean Parks (guitar), Howard Hewett (vocals), and Liz Wright (vocals).
Streaming on NAS............ One fine album, soothing and sets up a relaxing atmosphere and perfect for arriving home on this Wednesday evening after an extremely long day....... Hot, humid, and summer time, nothing to complain about, enjoy it while its here even if work gets in the way! The music is as sweet as ever........
seakayaker, played this one yesterday via Tidal superb, a reminder to play a couple of Randy Crawford and Joe Sample Albums today stunning music indeed.
In Our Time on R4. Today's subject, echolocation in bats. Question of the morning, so far: 'Why don't they [bats] deafen themselves?'

For a moment there, I thought I was on the World Cup thread.
On this beautiful sunny morning, I am listening to the sexy sound of The diVINYLS and their self-titled fourth studio album released under Virgin Records. I Touch Myself which is pure seduction. Listening on CD.
Eric Clapton - Life in 12 Bars, the soundtrack that accompanies the documentary of the same name.Includes previously unreleased tracks and different mixes. The SQ is excellent and the material has been mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.
Luke Howard Trio - The Electric Night Descends
Sunny mid-morning on the longest day of the year. Glorious.
Fabulous album by Depeche Mode - Playing on Compact Disc on Sire Records 1987
Paul McCartney - New,
Playing his New album before we get his new album in September, still a few cracking tunes.
Playing on Cassette on TDK -AD C90......more synth pop from Yazzo......Alison Moyet can certainly hit those notes
Gaz Coombes - World's Strongest Man.
Though I remember him from Supergrass days, I'd never really listened to any of his solo offerings.
Picked him up on Jules Holland's show the other evening, and ripped and streaming now.
Surprisingly good, though I think it's something of a grower, and yet again, Jools show proves to be a great source of new music.
Dave - this album is getting great reviews and is definitely on my list!
Now Playing..........
Kandace Springs - Soul Eyes
Streaming on NAS.......... Waking up with Kandace and her soothing beautiful voice, and this is one fine album without a bad song. If you give it a listen there is a very good chance you will be making a purchase! Setting the mood for a successful day.........
The Beat - Here We Go Love!
A recent addition, this is another fine album from The Beat, one of my favourite bands from the '80's.
It was a shame when they disbanded, but I've recently seen live the two present incarnations of the old band, one led by Dave
Wakeling, the other by Ranking Roger, and each are still able to recapture the magic ............ a great night out!
Playing on Cassette on Maxell XL -S II - THe Sabs in fine form from 1972
Jimmy Smith - The Cat, the organist is backed by a big band ensemble with great horns arranged by Lalo Schifrin.Really gives the system a workout with plenty blasts/ stabs of brass and great dynamics.
The Selecter - Live At The Roundhouse.
Having just played The Beat's new album, it seemed only right to stick this on next.
They went on tour with The Beat and this CD + DVD is a recording of their gig at The Roundhouse, London.
Two of the best 2Tone bands, IMHO.
Jack White - Playing on Cassette on TDK AD -X C90 - Really nice round up album of Jacks acoustic stuff
Now Playing.......
Leon Bridges - Good Thing
Streaming on NAS....... New album release from this past May and taking it out for a spin!
Portico Quartet - Art in the Age of Automation
Bert, if you are reading this, it's finally growing on me

Great album.
For anyone who is still spinning reels, the original 7 1/2 ips reel tape of this is well worth tracking down.
Now Playing.......
Brothers Osborne - Port Saint Joe
Streaming on TIDAL....... A new album that was released this past April and taking out for a spin........
Bad Manners - Walking In The Sunshine - The Best Of.
More happy, bouncy Ska choons ............. "Lip Up Fatty" etc, ............. just great stuff.
Playing on Compact Disc - Well good Soundtrack album by Curtis Mayfield - Pusherman is so sleazy
Original vinyl, recently retrieved from storage, it's been around 35 years since I played this copy. Sounds great on my new turntable.
Rhoda Dakar - sings The Bodysnatchers.
The Bodysnatchers only ever managed to have two singles released, which is something of a mystery, as they were certainly up there
with the best of the 2Tone bands.
This album sees lead singer Rhoda Dakar re-record these, together with many of the choons they used to play live.
The assembled musicians include several members of 2Tone royalty, and this is a great ska album.
It's there on Tidal, so have a bash, all you 2Tone fans, 'cos it's a winner.
