On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
I am a bit obsessed by Can at the moment (who wouldn't be?) so this fine triple vinyl set from last year seems appropriate:
1n 2005, The Stereophonics released their fifth studio album Language. Sex. Violence. Other? on V2 Records. Dakota defines the sound of summer for me. Listening on CD.
As its a gourgous summers day here in the UK what better to start the day than the Four Seasons.......I should be on Summer in about 15 mins
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos
Booker T & The MG'S - The Best Of, a collection of their best early material on Atlantic.
Quite a few mentions of Miles on here recently. I played these two double LPs yesterday afternoon - definitely on my 'Desert Island Discs' list !
Greg Burk - The Detroit songbook
Nice original modern piano trio jazz from Greg Burk. He composed all the song on this album.
GREG BURK piano
MATTEO BORTONE bass
JOHN B. ARNOLD drums
Lovely solo album from Gene Clark from The Byrds with Carla Olson from 1987 - Playing on Vinyl on Demon Records
Tanita Tikaram - Closer To The People
Upbeat, sunny.
Playing Tribal by Dr John, great album, jazzy, bluesy music of the American deep south.
John Phillips - Pay Pack & Follow
An all-time great of feelgood albums with top Stones-y backing vocals.
The Rolling Stones - Black and Blue, probably one of the best sounding Stones releases and the different musical styles give the album some variety.
1n 1984, Don Henley released his second studio album Building the Perfect Beast under Geffen. The Boys of Summer is a poignant reminder for us to make the most of the long days because although the summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, it also represents the beginning of diminishing light. Listening on CD.
Craig Brann - Mark my words
If you like guitar jazz, than I can recommend this album by Guitarist/composer Craig Brann.
Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way ,
Fabulous album by the Stratmaster - Playing on Vinyl on Sire Records 1976
Now Playing........
k. d. lang - Ingenue
Streaming on NAS........ Starting off this Friday morning with k. d. lang's Ingenue's album which is one beautiful album, just love her music!
Maceo Parker - School's in!
Soul / Funk jazz by sax player Maceo Parker.
A fine Whitesnake album to Rock the office on a friday afternoon - Playing on Compact Disc on EMI Records
According to the Penguin Guide this is perhaps her finest achievement on record. I cannot disagree.
After a few coach trips back to the poolside listenings on the Amazon player. ????
Now Playing.......
Lera Lynn - Plays Well With Others
Streaming on TIDAL...... New release from June 2018 which was a random pick from the 'Suggested New Albums' listing on TIDAL. First two tracks are very nice.....
A fine album of The Greatful Dead - Playing on Cassette on TDK AD X C90
Now Playing......
Jill Barber - Metaphora
Streaming on TIDAL..... Another random pick from TIDAL's 'Suggested New Albums' listing.....
1971 - CD (rip) 1999 reissue...

It's been a little while so I'm going for some fine bluesy Texican rock by los tres hombres. Well recorded nice sounding stuff from original Warner Bros. label CD.
