Ralph McTell and Wizz Jones, About Time - Original Vinyl
I saw Ralph and Wizz last night and picked up this double vinyl edition of their 2 recent albums. 2 of the most important figures of the British folk and blues scene of the ‘50s (Wizz) and ‘60s, both still going strong now, they played a blinder last night. This is an album of songs and writers that influenced them, an eclectic mix, Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, jug band tracks... They’re both fantastic guitarists, 2 acoustics, 2 fine singers, a set of blues, folk-blues, country songs, what more could you want?
How weird is that as last night I was playing a dub 7 1/2 ips stereo tape of an unreleased Ralph album he made at IBC studios with Shel Talmy in 76 that's never been released.
Harold Lopez-Nussa - El Viaje
Good jazz by Cuban pianist Harold Lopez-Nussa. It has that latin style. It's mainly a piano trio album, but on some tracks other musicians play along. If you like Michael Camilo, you might like this one as well.
Personnel: Harold López-Nussa: piano, keyboard, backing vocal (9); Alune Wade: bass, vocal, backing vocal (9); Ruy Adrian Lopez-Nussa: drums, percussion, triola, backing vocal (9); Mauquel Gonzalez: trumpet, flugelhorn; Dreiser Durruthy: tambores batá, vocal (21); Adel Gonzalez: percussion (6); Ruy Francisco Lopez-Nussa: drums (7).

Great Call Dave,
I also have that album and have to say its so mesmirising - especially with the cora - sort of transports you to a hot day in Mali.
Yeah lovely music so pure and un - processed sounding.

On a hot, sticky North Yorks. afternoon, what could be more fitting than some desert trance blues, played on the Astell & Kern,
whilst crashed out in the garden with a chilled Estrella?
