On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Released 2015 - Swedish singer Ida Sand decides to do Neil Young songs, and does a fine job. ????

Damn! This is a superb album. What a discovery!
I thought I'd post both cover pictures in case readers are getting confused.
Heard Eltn John last weekend on Radio Two discussing this album they played a couple of tracks and I thought it was worth buying.
A selection of Elton John and Bernie Taupin song recorded in Nashville by various Country and Western singers a very pleasant album.
The Vince Hill version of Sacrifice is something rather special.
Guns N Roses
Appetite For Destruction (Remastered Super Deluxe) - Tidal HiFi
Volume turned up to 11.

My vinyl box set of the Steve Wilson Yes remasters has just arrived. Lovely package. Relayer up first and sounding very good indeed, so much better than my CD....

Thanks Tabby.
Chicago Blues from Jimmy Dawkins - Fabulous album - Playing on Cassette on TDK AD C60 ......if you like Blues you will really love this album
Samba Toure - Wande.
Reviewed in this month's Mojo, this is a must listen for anyone here with an interest in Malian & Western desert blues.
Hints of Tinariwen and Ali Farka Toure, and with almost Keef-like riffs here and there, a hugely atmospheric album which I can't
recommend highly enough ............................ it's on Tidal, so what are you waiting for?
First up...Van Morrison - Days Like This
....and now Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading
Why? Do you really need a reason to play either of these two wonderful pieces of music?
Double cd released 2018 - Great stuff. ????
1971 - Vinyl - UK first pressing...

I’ve been meaning to listen to this for quite some time. Added to my Tidal playlist for later on. Enjoy it, Dan.
Louis Couperin (c1626-1661): Pavel Kolesnikov (piano)
Couperin lived only 35 years and most of his compositional output seems to have occurred through the last ten years of his life. From what has been found, we have around 200 compositions. This is quite a nice output but for comparison, Mozart died at 35 years and amassed around 600 compositions. Schubert though was the king of proficiency as his output was around 1500 compositions in only 31 years. Of course this comparison is flawed as we are with Mozart comparing Operas with many short lied from Schubert. I wonder who wrote the most notes though ?
1969 - Vinyl - UK second pressing...
Thought I'd dig out an album or two that I rarely play.

Hmmm. Now you're tempted me, Tony. I can feel the need for a bit communication breakdown.
Found this in the bargain bin a while ago, very good condition vinyl and only $4. Spurred on by someone else playing Joan.
Joan Armatrading - Sleight Of Hand (1986)
Nice relaxing jazz...
Only drums and piano - amazing sound they are able to produce....
Double vinyl just arrived via Amazon, on side one... Likey likely so far. ????
If there is one thing that hasn’t changed for Dumbo Gets Mad, it’s their bravery, the root of their personality and boldness, which makes the music they put their minds and time into an absolute joy to listen to.
(1988)
Yello - Flag
I fancied a bit of Yello because its been a while and this thirty year old will do nicely, lovely SQ as ever from these boys.
Aged s/h vinyl
Why? Smooth retro pop. Includes that heart-felt paean to a long-gone England manager, "I Don't Need This Pressure Ron!"
