On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Artistic jazz
Inspired by the incredible weather we are having here just east of Nottingham - The Grateful Dead - Anthem of the Sun.
Eric Clapton - The Dallas Cowboy ; Texas Broadcast 1976, reminded to play after watching the "Life in 12 bars " documentary on BBC2 last night.
Bowie - Diamond Dogs (1974). On vinyl.
Now Playing........
Nik Bartsch's Ronin - Awase
Nik Bärtsch (piano), Sha (bass clarinet, alto saxophone), Thomy Jordi (bass), and Kaspar Rast (drums).
Streaming on NAS....... On another gray overcast and cool morning selecting an album I have not taken out for a spin in awhile. The beat is hypnotic and upbeat and the music sounds perfect to get me up and moving this morning.
Bekon - Get With The Times (2018). Alternative R&B Hip Hop Soul. First album by this producer of Kendrick Lamar's last album. At least try the title track, he's heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, turn up the volume. On Tidal.
The Bad Plus - Suspicious Activity?
Driving rhythms are just the answer on a sultry evening, with a glass of chilled red.
Now Playing.......
Stefano Bollani - Stone In The Water
Stefano Bollani (piano), Jesper Bodilsen (double-bass), and Morten Lund (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL....... I'm back from running a few errands and thought I would settle in and listen to the cool and hushed melodies from Stefano's trio. Opening couple of tracks are perfect for helping to set an uplifting mood on this fall-like day here on July 1st!
Sandro Fazio - Dear Trane
Checking out this tribute to John Coltrane. The quartet which consist of guitar, sax, bass and drums plays with strong rock influences. If you like jazz rock, you might like this one as well.
In the car on CD whilst driving to and from Skipsea
Why? Amongst other things, it has two of my favourite Beatles songs on it, Thank You Girl and You Know My Name (Look Up The Number).

Brilliant track. The original, by Belmont Tench, who wrote the song, is also great.
