What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(1975)
Robin Trower - For Earth Below
Some fine RT fronted vocally by bass-man the late James Dewar, to top off another wonderful day's weather and kick off the evening's music.
Ray Brown trio - Soular Energy, Concord CD ripped to NS01. Super recording, just as you'd expect from the Concord label.
Whilst in the Rays I spotted this, Every One Of Us by Ray Anderson. From 1992, some jazz trombone. With Simon Nabatov (piano), Charlie Haden (bass) and Ed Blackwell (drums) - tremendous line up!
The Jam - Sound Affects - Uk first press on vinyl 1980 Polydor
My introduction to poetry came on the back cover of this LP - Powerful stuff for a teenager!
Rise, like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
Ye are many—they are few!"
Let a vast assembly be,
And with great solemnity
Declare with measured words, that ye
Are, as God has made ye, free.
The old laws of England—they
Whose reverend heads with age are grey,
Children of a wiser day;
And whose solemn voice must be
Thine own echo—Liberty!
Wavelength (1978). This is one of Van's best albums, for me anyway. Picked this up today on my bicycle ride (I pass by 3 used record stores on my route). On vinyl.
Herlin Riley - New direction
Herlin Riley (d), Bruce Harris (t), Goodwin Louis (as, ss), Emmett Cohen (p), Mark Whitfield (g), Russell Hall (b) and Pedrito Martinez (congas)
Buddy Guy & Junior Wells - Drinkin' TNT 'n' Smokin' Dynamite.
A smoking hot live album from two masters ............... Chicago club blues at it's very best.
(1976)
Robin Trower Live
I almost headed for another of his fine studio albums but went for this great (well recorded) live album, his playing is exquisite and the vocals back it up superbly.
Going through some old 45's probably a bit crackly for all of you 272/ND555 owners out there but something about those little black discs makes me feel good.
Paul Weller - A. 1. The Changing Man. 2. I'd Rather Go Blind / B.1 It's a New Day Baby. 2. I didn't Mean to Hurt You
(Live at The Royal Albert Hall) Extended Play 7" UK vinyl Go Discs 1995
The Smiths - A. ASK / B. Cemetary Gates. Rough Trade UK 7" RT194 1986.
Otis Redding - A. Love Man. / B. That's How Strong My Love Is. ATCO UK 7" 1969
Desmond Dekker - A. It Mek / B. Problems. Pyramid Records UK 7" 1969
And one more
William Bell - A. My Whole World is Falling Down. / B. All God's Children Got Soul. Stax UK 7" 1969
All the above were picked at random 'Lucky Dip' style and the last three I picked from my singles box were all from the same year 1969 my birth year!

World Party - Private Revolution
Faces - A Nod's as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells a Story
Rod Stewart - Sing it Again Rod
Happy Days..

Turtle Skull
Just over four tracks this long EP/short LP is a good snatch of some very nice well played psyche-rock.
Vinyl released 1972 - I was in a bar in Liverpool today and Immigration Man came on. Had to play the album when I got home. ????

Brought a smile Steve,
My brother in law Alan is Robins manager and saw him twice last year in Brighton and London.Always like it when Robin goes on those long extended guitar breaks.BTW did you get a Compact Disc of the Hoax in the end off Alan or spoke to him ? I think it was you I correspondent with in the music room.
Playing on Vinyl on 3 x 12 " on Late night tales Records - Great album of British Techno by Manchester's finest.... D.J Sasha....
Original vinyl, I went to the local record shop the morning after it was broadcast on Omnibus.
Why, because someone mentioned thunder in another thread and this was the record I mentioned. Then after a day of unrelenting heat at work...
The energy, the conditions under which the tapes were made, the peace felt just right. Then, halfway through the first side a single cloud drifted across the sun.
The Undertones - Teenage Kicks.
Sometimes, you just have to give in and listen to an album full of catchy three minute wonders ................ and, as the late John Peel
said "Teenage Kicks" is probably the best pop song ever written.
Harmony (1971). Got this today as well, on vinyl, sounds good.
John Martyn One World on Tidal, haven’t listened to this in ages, the last track ‘Small Hours’ and ‘Big Muff’ just epitomises JM to me and is reminiscent of how he sounded live, what a pity he’s still not with us chucking this stuff out
Roger Waters, In The Flesh.
Getting in the mood for tomorrows BST Hyde Park "Us and Them" Show and I cannot wait
Beethoven Piano Trios Op 1/1 & 1/2, WAV CD rip
Lovely early Beethoven, flowing piano lines, played beautifully with real fluidity by the Borodins.

Hi Ian, yep it was me trying to get hold of that Hoax album, I have all the others. Thanks for reminding me I'll contact Alan to see if he has any of the particular album that I'm looking for. I'll contact Jon Amor too just on the off chance, thanks for the reminder.
Vinyl released 1971 - This album has it all jazz, latin-rock, soul and funk. Great stuff ????
