What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Ahead of his mega-gig in Hyde Park this evening, I thought I'd give Chuckles' most recent solo outing , Is This The Life We Really Want? a spin on vinyl:
Ry Cooder - Bop Till You Drop,
Paul O'dette - Bach lute works
Very nice recording of Bach's music played on the lute.
Live (1976). Found this record in storage, never knew I had it or where it came from. Giving it a spin, good blues from two greats.

Beatles For Sale - CD Rip
Edward
I have an original vinyl copy believe it or not along with original copies of 'With the Beatles' and 'Rubber Soul', all three are well worn from been regularly played on an old 'radiogram' by my older siblings and probably with a coin balanced over the stylus! Still great though.
Ry Cooder - The Prodigal Son.
Following ALANP's shout above .................... a wee bit of mellow Ry is just the thing before this afternoon's footyfest.
Getting Funky with this classic War album from 1975 - Playing on Cassette on TDK SA C60
Have already some interesting listening hours behind me. Started today with this. Different but very entertaining, not as background music...
Old and smooth...
One of the very nice albums of Miles...
A very impressive progressive metal album, full sound..
A very mixed album, too many styles, too much mess, only a couple of interesting pieces - at least for me...
Fantastic Negrito - Please Don't Be Dead.
If you thought his last album was good, and it did seem to have something of a cult following on here, then this one simply ramps
the groove up further ............... not to be missed, and since it's on Tidal, what are you waiting for?
Hank Mobley - Reach out.
A bit of soul jazz from Hank Mobley.
The best LP from the Floyd's imperial phase (1973-79), containing some of Chuckles' best-ever songwriting (and singing, oddly enough). Also brilliant synth work from Rick and perhaps Fat Dave's finest guitar (and bass, if runours are to be believed) playing on a PF record. And of course, one of the great covers.
Songs from this LP feature heavily on Chuckles' current tour, which bodes well for those of us going to see him in London tonight.
This is the Guthrie/Plante 2011 CD, sounding remarkably fine through the Oppo.
Now Playing..............
Jim Hall & Bill Evans - Undercurrent
Jim Hall (guitar) and Bill Evans (piano)
Streaming on NAS........... A recent purchase and now getting a chance to take it out for a spin. An album mentioned recently by a couple of other forum members and ran across this used copy at a local record store. Two master musicians sounding mighty fine this Friday morning......
Ike Quebec - Heavy Soul
- Bass – Milt Hinton
- Drums – Al Harewood
- Organ – Freddie Roach
- Tenor Saxophone – Ike Quebec
Fela Kuti - Gentleman ( https://felakuti.bandcamp.com/album/gentleman-1973 )
Heard the title track for the first time last night @ the Steve Davis/Kavus Torabi DJ set in Walthamstow. It was a fitting last song of the evening, summing up the guy's eclectic music tastes & approach to what constitutes 'Dancing' music. A great night.
This tune was a big hit last night as well & a major help towards my 10000 Fitbit steps for the day
John Lennon - Imagine. just squeezing this in before the football.
Getting a double dose of Funk with this Tower of Power 2 album collection - Playing on Compact Disc - sounding pretty good
Heroes (1977). Played "Low" yesterday, Bowie years in Berlin. Never really gave this album a chance years ago. Spinning the vinyl for another go.

The Allman Brothers Band - Brothers and Sisters, going down a treat on this beautiful sunny morning.
Indeed a great album to play in any weather and at any time of day. I really enjoy the song 'Jelly Jelly', which I first heard being played by the Paynekillers in a pub in Hotwells, Bristol
Lou Reed v Metallica ? LULU
Yes please. Interestingly compelling album from 2011.
