The problem with highlights discs or themed collections, as in this case, is that there's always an argument for those works left off and tracks being taken out of context. That's certainly the case in respect of Acknowledgement, being part 1 of the Album 'A Love Supreme', but ignoring that issue, I think this is a splendid collection in its own right. As Alice Coltrane says in the accompanying notes, "This outstanding music performed by John is joyful, peaceful, and shining brightly in the pure reality of the life, spirituality, and God".
Where would we be without Chuck?

Beulah - John Paul White released 2016 - Following the very public disintegration of the Civil Wars in 2012, John Paul White comes up with a set of beautifully composed, utterly self- absorbed modern country songs. Fine album

Great album, I bought it after somebody championed it on the forum
I have a couple of copies of the MFSL Sacd that are amongst the best sounding discs I own.
Now Playing......
Van Morrison - Versatile
Streaming on TIDAL........ It's late Friday morning and thought a little Van Morrison with his 'Versatile' album from December 2017 would make for a nice toe tapping occasion!
Franz Ferdinand - Always Ascending (2018). Don't know this group, saw them mentioned here, giving them a try while watching soccer (I know, I know ... football ). Via Tidal.

I don't know Coltrane's music at all, shocking but true. What should I start with?

Most people start with A Love Supreme, which is probably the second highest selling jazz record of all time (after Kind of Blue). That's what I started with in the mid 80s. But I'd also say that Giant Steps would be a perfect starting point. It's an album of Trane originals, all of which have become modern day standards. Other alternatives would be Blue Train or My Favourite Things. Wherever you start, I recommend many repeat plays so that the melody takes hold first. Then through more concentrated listening you start to appreciate the harmonic and rhythmic structures. It's a great journey. Enjoy it.
EDIT: and let us know how you get on!
(2017)
Soen - Lykia
More fine prog metal / prog rock from one of my favourite Swedish bands playing this genre of music. Sound off on the world cup game, obviously!
Roy Hargrove - Habana
Nice latin style jazz from Roy Hargrove and his band.
- Alto Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone – Gary Bartz
- Bass – John Benitez (tracks: 1 to 4, 6 to 10)
- Congas – Miguel "Ana" Diaz*
- Drums – Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez
- Guitar – Russell Malone
- Piano – Chucho Valdés
- Soprano Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone – David Sanchez (3)
- Timbales – Jose Quintana
- Trombone – Frank Lacy
- Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Roy Hargrove
Lucinda Williams - Essence
How on earth did I come to this so late?!

I'm taking the credit here . The phrase, 'the archdukes of disco-punk' is not mine but feel free to bore your mates with it!

Great record though A Love Supreme is, as a rather more accessible starter may be Ballads, a gentler introduction to Coltrane.
Double vinyl released 2012 - Fonseca is one heck of a pianist and one of the most exciting musicians in the new Cuban scene. Great album ????
2017 - Tidal...
