On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Vinyl released 1979 - Great album.????

(2010)
We Are The Fallen - Tear The World Down
Hard hitting heavy riffs, great female fronted goth rock. Punchy and visceral just how I like it.

Superb album, Steve. I sometimes use it to try out new kit. The opening song is a peach with some drum-work that you need to feel as well as hear.

Wilko Johnson - Red Hot Rocking Blues.
Prompted by ALPHA4LIFE ^ Wilko turns out an album consisting largely of covers ............... and it's a belter!
But then, I'd expect no less from the man, straight ahead rock 'n roll, ably assisted, as always, by Norman Watt-Roy and Dylan Howe.

Absolutely Mike, It's one of those that was getting very regular play for a number of years, I just had to get it out again.

Having enjoyed LZI yesterday this had to follow. As a young teenager I played it death. That was also about the time that I discovered and read Lord of the Rings and once I spotted the odd reference to that trilogy in the lyrics it just served to enhance the magic of the album for me.
Playing on Vinyl on Vinyl on International Artists - A fine album by Texan Psych Legends The Thirteenth Floor Elevators from 1969

2007 - CD(rip)...

Rory Gallagher - Tattoo
(1973)
Fabulous stuff from Rory a Master of the Stratocaster using his skill and art to great effect here.

2006 - CD (rip)...

A longtime favourite, despite two tracks being repeated (taken from) the live at the VV album.
Lee Morgan - Search for the new land
The album being discussed this week in the jazz corner topic.

And that was followed (currently playing) by one which is a strong contender for his best all round. Live at Birdland.

Lee Morgan - The Gigolo
Another fine record by Lee Morgan.

- Bass – Bob Cranshaw
- Drums – Billy Higgins
- Piano – Harold Mabern, Jr.
- Tenor Saxophone – Wayne Shorter
- Trumpet – Lee Morgan
Now Playing......

Renee Rosnes - Written in the Rocks
Renee Rosnes (piano) Steve Wilson (saxophone, flute) Steve Nelson (vibraphone), Peter Washington (bass), and Bill Stewart (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL................ Placed this in the TIDAL queue a while ago and just now getting around to giving the album a spin. Sounding mighty fine on this late Tuesday morning.......

(1987)
Yello - One Second
Super stuff from the fun boy two accompanying the (muted) semi-finals and a bottle of Chardonnay.

I thought “Heatwave” would be an appropriate track this evening as we bask in continued unprecedented sunshine! The Blue Nile - A walk across the rooftops from 1984, a real gem of an album. Unusually & ironically it was commissioned & financed by Linn in the early 80’s to showcase their HiFi and the band was born, Linn also formed a label specially to release the record. In fairness to Linn even 34 years later it does sound rather delicious on my new Nova! Streaming on Tidal although definitely one to have on vinyl I suspect.
Today's trip with the Dead continues, this time with the famous 'skull and roses' double album, on CD. This contains one of THE great "Berthas"...

Vinyl released 1993 - Great stuff from Mr Guy.
