What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Playing on Cassette on TDK AR C60 - Enjoying this Sabs album from 1971...Sweetleaf and Children of the Grave are rather good....
Back in 2000, this album was absolutely everywhere - in every club, wine bar, car stereo - and most homes, it seems. Still sounds decent today.
On original CD:
Have recently rediscovered Moby, and in particular his recent album Everything was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt, which takes its title from Kurt Vonnegut's book Slaughterhouse Five. To quote Roon, this album is Moby's depressed and introverted response to the 2016 US Presidential election, and its subsequent societal fallout. The final sweeping track, "This Wild Darkness" finds Moby searching for a reason to continue. As he intones over a lush backdrop, supporting vocalists sing "In this darkness/Please light my way". In this age of Brexit, this strikes a powerful chord, set against a backdrop of climate change, war and conflict - themes which the YouTube official video crystallise and amplify. Again, to quote Roon, "it's a beautiful way to usher out Everything was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt, as if Moby is offering a comforting sonic hug." If you haven't heard before, enjoy...

Inspired by Dan Steel's post above, I thought I'd give this a spin - Prefab Sprout (Andromeda Heights).
Slightly bonkers, but ever-so-brilliant, live album from the first lady of Neo-Soul. On original 1997 UK CD:
just a bit fun between serious listening …
James Corden heads to Liverpool for a special day with Paul McCartney spent exploring the city of Paul's youth, visiting his childhood home where he wrote music with John Lennon, performing songs in a local pub and of course driving around singing a few of Paul's biggest hits.
Now Playing......
Lizz Wright - Salt
Streaming on TIDAL....... Continuing on and picking another Lizz Wright album and taking 'SALT' out for a spin! I enjoy Lizz's music quite a bit and definitely it is worth the time to give her some of my time, always come away feeling better.......
Air - Pocket Symphony
(2007)
It's been a bit of a day and this one is nice to chill with.
Malia - Yellow Daffodils.
I was rather taken with her voice on the joint venture with Boris Blank, so since this, her debut album was available for pennies on
The River, why not?
Ripped and streaming, it's a light hearted mix of soul, jazz and funk, and is rather good. IMHO.
Chris Potter / Kenny Werner
Very nice recording of a concery bu Chris Potter and Kenny Werner. The program is very varied ranging from standards to own compositions by Chris Potter and Kenny Werner. The playing during this concert is excellent. Recommended!
- Piano – Kenny Werner
- Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone, Bass Clarinet – Chris Potter
The fourth one, with that well-known song on it. In 96/24 via USB into the Oppo's DACs.
(2001)
Alison Krauss & Union Station - New Favourite
I can't stay too long away from her voice or the fine Union Station who support her from time to time, wonderful bluegrass musicianship backing up a superb voice.
Roxy Music
Heart Still Beating - Tidal HiFi

Yup, me too...
Vinyl released 1977 - Got slated on released, still can’t figure out why. One of his best. ????
Paul Rodgers - Free Spirit.
Great CD + DVD package of the live concert at The Albert Hall sees Paul re-visit Free's hits catalogue and prove that he's still got it.
One of the UK's all time great soul / blues voices, this is highly recommended.
Hart & Bonamassa - Black Coffee
(2018)
Possibly the best Hart & Bonamassa studio album to date, great raunchy voice well accompanied by Joe and the band. Belter!

Good stuff, Dave. This is winging its way to me and hopefully here tomorrow.

I'm sure you will already have listened to this one, but if not, it's there on Tidal, and, again, is highly recommended.
Paul Rodgers - The Royal Sessions.
Recorded at the Royal Studios, Memphis, with the in-house rhythm section, it's a celebration of the 60's Memphis Soul sound, and
is, as they say, a belter.
The Rolling Stones - It's Only Rock ' n' Roll, often derided but still contains a number of classics in "Time Waits For No One" and "Fingerprint File" and the title track.
