A couple of songs recorded during their recent tour. There's a bit of chat before and during, but the performances make me wish I'd been fit enough to see them. They're hard to describe or categorise... but their album is really really good.

Just discovered this guy via my luthier - definitely want to hear more:
Charles Gounod (1818-1893): Roberto Prosseda, piano
Piano Works
Many, if asked, could not name one one piece of music by the French composer, Charles Gounod. Yet, there are at least two works that everyone knows. The first, you may have heard at a wedding possibly somewhere along the line and second is a theme you might associate with Alfred Hitchcock.
It is also interesting to remember that it was Felix Mendelssohn who brought a revival of J.S. Bach back to Germany / Europe with a performance of the St. Matthew Passion. It was his sister, Fanny, who really introduced J.S. Bach to Gounod. One of the fruits to come out of this relationship we have his improvisation (Ave Maria) based on the C-major prelude of Book 1 of the WTC.
