Superb 4 track EP from 1977 a forerunner for the only album they released. An excellent Scottish band featuring Maggie Reilly. ????
"It's Over" (Boz Scaggs/David Paich)
"September" (Alan Darby)
"Play It Once For Me" (Stuart MacKillop)
"Gimme Little Sign" (Alfred Smith/Joe Hooven/Hal Winn)Maggie Reilly: Vocals, backing vocals
Alan Darby: Guitars
Gavin Hodgson: Bass
Stuart MacKillop: Keyboards
Davy Roy: Drums, percussion
Colin Tully: Saxophone, flute, horn arrangements
Booked them for a fair number of gigs and they never disappointed.
Gavin still has an album I lent him in the 70's. Don't think I will ever get it back now.
A band with a huge amount of potential but let down by a porrly produced album.
I couldn't stop palying Alan's track September on this e.p. when it came out.

Always thought he has so much talent but has just never produced that killer album but it has been awhile since I gave him a proper listen.

You're right Ewemon! Imho he can do it. This is that kind of record you forget about and every time you put it on you wonder why not so often. Genuine i believe....

You should catch him live if you ever have the opportunity. I strongly recommend Slaves Mass and also his 1970 self titled album. Enjoy it.
Thanks Tony - I will check those releases out as well.
Vinyl released 1966 - My fave fabs album.????
Enjoying this dub album by The Skatalites perfect music for doing the housework too - Playing on Vinyl on Motion Records 2001
Lee Konitz quintet - Peacemeal
A nice recording by Lee Konitz, It contains three tracks that are based on pieces from Bela Bartok Mikrokosmos composition.
- Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Saxophone [Multivider Saxophones]
- Bass – Eddie Gomez
- Drums – Jack De Johnette
- Piano – Dick Katz
- Valve Trombone, Horn [Baritone Horn] – Marshall Brown
Charity shop find, original US pressing with an inner land marking I have not seen before "mastered by Capitol".
Released the year I got married, first track Guardian Angel, 40th anniversary this year! Playing whilst I do the ironing.
On SACD, stereo DSD straight to analogue. Brilliant music in incredible SQ. A new arrival (not that one needs and excuse to play Can):
Herb Ellis & Joe Pass - Seven, come eleven
Two giants of the jazz guitar play jazz standards. They are supported by Ray Brown (bass) and Jake Hanna (drums).
If this won't trigger a love for live blues music, then I don't know what will.
Best regards, FT
