On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.

On vinyl
"An album of vaporous intensity" according to the sleevenotes, and so it is. Along with Tago Mago this is the group's finest achievement. Sounding superb on this SACD.
Nice swinging jazz...

I wouldn't argue too much with that, except I have a really soft spot for Soon Over Babaluma. Partly because I was expecting a big drop with Damo going.
The Rolling Stones - Bridges to Babylon,
Last night was the 236th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show. The show entirely focused on music from 2018, in which Ian Fairholm selected some of the best music he found on albums, EPs and singles released so far this year.
The 30 tracks will take 2 hours & 41 minutes of your time, in one sitting or more. Lot's of new artist's to my ears and worth sharing with fellow music fans here. Oh, I get a mention for recommending the Nadia Struiwigh track.

Yes Nick. "Chain Reaction/Quantum Physics" on Side 2 is up there with Can's best.
Vinyl released 1988 - Great pop songs and no bass player. Fine album ????
I really like these Can SACDs (the core catalogue was remastered under the supervision of Irmin and Holger in 2004). I will be buying the lot I think, they sound excellent.
This is the third one I have - Unlimited Edition. I think today will be SACD Saturday!
Fantastic album, Bentley Caldwell, the place I call home....
Very modern album, some nice parts...
The Rolling Stones - Stripped, a great concept that makes for a really good latter day Stones album
Various Artist - Live at the 1990 concord jazz festival, first set.
From the first second you'll notice that the sound quality of the live recording is excellent. As is the music. It has the great Gene Harris on piano and that was the reason I bought this CD.
- Bass – Neil Swainson
- Drums – Alan Dawson
- Guitar – Ed Bickert
- Piano – Gene Harris
- Trombone – Al Grey, Benny Powell
- Trumpet – Harry "Sweets" Edison*
- Valve Trombone – Rob McConnell
Driving Trio Jazz...
