What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Emily Remler's most well known album, East to Wes. This one's still available and is probably her best bop album. I wish I'd been lucky enough to have seen her play.
Enjoying some early Beatles on this fine summer's evening.
The track And I Love Her has long been one of my favourite Beatles songs.
Idil Biret, Chopin Piano Sonatas Nos. 1, 2 & 3, WAV CD rip
Back with the system after a week hiking in the Dales, and then a weekend of parties. Some wonderfully played Chopin, Romantic and beautiful.
Haven't given this a spin for a while and thoroughly enjoying. The start of the Musical Box is magic the atmosphere sort of sends you back to a Victorian time.Genesis could certainly do atmosphere - Playing on Vinyl on Charisma Records 1971
Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark. Still checking out some favourites with the loan amplifier. This one I discovered in the early 80s. It was in a pile of records belonging to the boyfriend of a girl I knew. Great record.
Having been adding to my Cara Dillon collection over recent days I thought I remind myself of the album that first introduced me to her. Wonderful.....and another great discovery from this thread.
(1976 | 1994)
Joining Ian with a touch more fine Genesis.

couldn't agree more, wonderful album from their early, very creative period, creating a terrific atmosphere.
Paul
Back to the 80’s and the days when Chris was still trying to be a pop star. Great album still though.

...beat me to it Steve
An oldie but a goodie
The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, playing both discs from the 2017 50th anniversary edition.
Double vinyl released 2014 - With a voice that sounds like he’s been around the block a few times, playing guitar and piano Peterson gives a smoker of a session. Great album ????
Deep Purple, Stormbringer, 1980s vinyl
Fine hard rock album, a couple of soul/funk numbers are actually pretty good. Holy Man is a lovely ballad, Soldier of Fortune is one of my favourite hard rock ballads. Some superb rock outs, the title track has Blackmore and Lord really pushing the guitar and organ, while Coverdale belted our the lyrics. All in all an album I should probably listen to more often.
I was walking in the Yorkshire Dales last week and saw this, which inspired the listen.
More pop. Whatever happened to these scallies?
Great Live Recording by Robert Nighthawk from Chicago 1964 - Playing on Vinyl on Rounder Records
On vinyl, and still one of my favourite LPs
Adrian Boult & LPO, Elgar Enigma Variations & Introduction and allegro for strings, 1970s CFP vinyl
The Enigma variations are lovely, great orchestral writing, tender, tempestuous, and Boult gets the LPO to pull every ounce of the feeling and the music out, fantastic recording.

Note to note Big Blues from a young upstart.
Nice to see that someone else appreciates Ian's music .......... I've previously posted albums from him with little response.
Not sure if they're on Tidal, but check these out for more great blues choons.

Ian Siegal - The Dust. A Bigger Plate of Meat & Potatoes. The Picnic Sessions.
I can't really recommend one over the other, as they're all great, and the rest of his catalogue merits investigation too.
Unfortunately not on Tidal. I saw Ian Siegal at the Bath Guitar Festival in 1998 and was blown away. Live I hadn‘t heard anything as tight as this since front row Clapton. Was wondering what happened to him.
Now Playing........
The Jayhawks - Back Roads and Abandoned Motels
Streaming on TIDAL........ A July 2018 release and taking out for a spin. Opening track grabs your attention and hope the rest of the album is as good!
(1977 | 2013)
Crosby, Stills & Nash - CSN
Because I'm just in the mood to let this fine album (possibly) close out the evening's listening, the Audio Fidelity edition improves on what was an already fine recording IMHO.
Great sounding, on 45rpm vinyl...
Interesting but hardly essential.

Now Playing........
Kandace Springs - Kandace Springs
Streaming on TIDAL...... A four track album from 2014...... and sounding mighty fine!
