On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
The Very Best of Jethro Tull

Because I just fancied a quick trot through some of Jethro's old classics and this good sounding eighty minute compilation is a nice way to do just that...

Ancient s/h vinyl ex-Maidenhead Library (Wife 1 worked there)
Why? I would not by any means call myself a Genesis fan but recent mention of them made me dig this out of the collection for curiosity's sake.

First disc of another £9.99 four-CD bargain from HMV. "Spanish Key" remains an all time fave.
Yes top quality. I find it very difficult to avoid calling people "cats" after listening to this.
WELCOME BACK SID!!
Bruce Springsteen. - Darkness on the Edge of Town, UK vinyl
Stripped down rock and roll, stunning lyrics providing haunting images of downbeat American life, the E-Street;Band one of the great rock bands, Springsteen masterful with voice and guitar. Racing in the Streets gets me choked up every time, does rock get much better?

One of his best, definitely from the soul.
Christy Moore. - On The Road, Original U.K. vinyl
My album of 2018 to date, the great Irish singer songwriter singing his most loved songs on. a triple album, recorded with various bands across 3 years of gigs. A common feature is the incredibly classy guitar of Declan Sinnott. Brilliant music.
As any Monk aficionado knows, his solo piano performances were wonderful, idiosyncratic, living works of art that often wound up in completely different territory from where they began. Sometimes the results would be a little shakey; often they would be inspiring. Regardless, these solo performances were adventures, and that quality makes the double disc Monk Alone: The Complete Columbia Solo Studio Recordings, 1962-1968 irresistible.(AllMusic)
