Daniel Cavanagh, Monochrome.

From Amazon;

"Inspired by internal feelings of love and loss, 'Monochrome' is a deeply reflective and personal offering. Cavanagh elaborates: "The album has a late night, candlelit feeling, evoking the light of dusk as the summer sun sinks below the horizon, setting the scene for thoughts and meditations that many people will relate to."

I think this is a Very, Very, Good album.

50th Anniversary edition.

Just acquired another one of the 2004 hybrid Can SACDs - this is its first spin. On their fourth album the group seem in a lighter mood than on Tago Mago, but no less intense. As ever it's the drumming that gets you...

In 1993, New Order's first post-Factory album, Republic, was released - as was the custom of the time (1993) - on vinyl, cassette and CD. In the US, there was also a limited edition CD, The Limited Run, packed artily in a Saville-designed padded silkscreened plastic case.

This is what I'm listening to right now. Made at a very difficult time for the band, it's a patchy album, but at least half of it is very good, and "Special" would be in my Top 10 NO tracks:

Thad Jones - The fabulous Thad Jones

An artist I discovered via this forum. Great jazz from 1954.

A bit of classic pop on this lovely sunny evening.

Just been thinking about getting that Ewen - is it an improvement on the 2001 version? Are the extras worth having?

Savage Garden,

Time for some more quality pop, all I need is a nice glass of wine to go with it.

Peter Gabriel  - So (1986) vinyl. Picked this up today at the used shop. Sounds great and it's in good shape. My original copy went missing over the years.

Prichard Thompson Band, Live at Rockpalast, Vinyl

I have this on CD/DVD,  I’ve just noticed the vinyl was around, arrived today.. RT on great guitar form with a couple of fine backing bands, Pete Zorn wailing superbly on wind as well. 2 gigs from 1983/1984, reasonable SQ, excellent performances of a lot of his best songs from the period, and some fun R&R. Superb stuff.
