On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.

Played this album last week for the first time in ages still sounds good.
Lie To Me (1997). Jonny turned 16 on his big label debut. Haven't played this in a while. Stevie Ray Vaughan is cued next, seems a good fit. CD rip.

Why? I would not by any means call myself a Genesis fan but recent mention of them made me dig this out of the collection for curiosity's sake.

I would almost go so far as saying that this is my favourite Genesis album. It does contain the famous bass pedal solo from Michael Rutherford, after all.
David Oistrakh - Mozart Violin Concerto No.3, 1967 vinyl
Amlvely piece of Mozart, beautifully tuneful first movement, heartfelt second movement, and fun third movement, joyous music, played wonderfully by Oistrakh.
Nice double album of artists who have recorded at the legendary Studio One in Jamaica in the 1970's - Their all on the cover.Playing on Vinyl on Soul Jazz Records on 180 g Vinyl......My 4 - 7" Drivers in my Focal floor standers are moving some air as my Technics Sl 1210 is digging deep into those basslines........Light weight compared to back in Jamaica I imagine the Brothers would have maybe 3 15 " drivers in their loudspeaker cabinets
Frank Sinatra and Sextet - Live in Paris, recorded in '62
Goldfrapp - Silver Eye (2017) 24/44 flac. Someone mentioned this group a few pages ago, I like, so I bought. Turn it up.
etc etc etc
Not what we're used to on this thread, maybe I should rename it as "what I've been listening to & why no one will be interested".
We've had a gathering of sorts tonite, some ladies arrived bearing gifts of bubbly & white stuff, & something called blush. Music was required, so I obliged, whatever they wanted (see above) I cranked it up & they seemed to be well impressed, first it was the quality, the clarity, the bass, the music, after a time the bubbly & blush seemed to be more important. Anyhow they've all gone now, the hubby collection service (thank goodness) worked well.
Now its me & "the party host" relaxing with something a bit more mellow, Frank playing & Diana queued up.

Funny how so many contemporary artists feel they need to obscure their identity.

You're winding me up. Let me guess: she's the new slim shady. Please stand up! sorry, Tj. She has the manufactured personality of a turnip!
Pretty good stuff. Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly (1973).
Beach House. Teen Dream. 2010.
Zola Blood - Infinite Games (2017). Heard these guys on Radio Paradise, good electronic trance chill. I believe they are from London. Talk about obscuring your face, maybe they will tour with Goldfrapp.... On Tidal.

Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section: one of his best.
Especially interesting for the first song with Randy Crawford. The rest of the album is more average fusion type of music.
