On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
I love this record. The driving "Chant of the Soil" is a highlight for me.
(1993). They got together again for a brief 6 week tour and this session was recorded in Paris.
Tonadas by the Julian Argüelles Quartet. Just out on Bandcamp. Powerful tenor and some excellent piano from Ivo Neame.
First run...
Albinoni - Complete Oboe Concertos
Anthony Camden (oboe), Alison Alty (oboe)
London Virtuosi, John Georgiadis
George Ezra - Staying at Tamara's
This is pretty decent pop for chilling early on a Summers Saturday morning.
I rather like his voice and the tunes are good as well.
Vinyl released 2010 - French folk and chamber music with guitars, progressive rhythms, and synths. A strange combination but with great results. ????
Dire Straits - Dire Straits
An alternative to this morning's parkrun which I didn't fancy. Similar feelgood.
First serious listen....
Steve Howe's drummer son Dylan re-imagines The Dame's finest hours. On CD:
Released 1961 - Superb album and superb line up.????
- Freddie Hubbard – trumpet
- Eric Dolphy – alto saxophone (flute on "Stolen Moments")
- Oliver Nelson – tenor saxophone (alto saxophone on "Teenie's Blues")
- George Barrow – baritone saxophone
Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
Charlie Watts and the donkey always raises a smile.
This record seems more authentically bluesey than the later live Stones records that I normally listen to. Begging the question as to what is authentic? But this ain't first year Cultural Studies
Rickie Lee Jones
1st run...
Kirsty MacColl - Tropical Brainstorm, the music has a South American feel but their is still the typical humour and honesty i the lyrics.
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Liam's recent tweet prompted me to find and rip the CD to my Core.
Now giving it the beans as SWMBO is out! Sweet.

What a cracking album! I've got two copies of Low (first press UK orange labels) and wondered if its worth hunting a Japanese copy over the UK release - esp given the prices now?
I've only got a handful of DB Japanese pressings - Dogs, Lets Dance and Tonight (yeah, I know, not his greatest!) and they generally seem better than my UK versions.
Eddie Reader - from '94
Vinyl released 2014 - ‘Sunday ’91’ is an intoxicating listen, a fine album from North Londoner Annie Eve. ????
