On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Today is officially the day for grumpy ****s.

so I'm listening to this as some sort of recourse towards good nature
Susumu Yokota. Distant Sounds of Summer
'…officially'?
I think that's been totally debunked - see http://www.badscience.net/category/blue-monday/

I had Back in the USSR in my head today, giving disc one a spin. This one ripped from half speed original stereo master recordings by MFSL from their fine sounding vinyl Beatles Box Collection.

I've just bought this, Edward, what do you think of it?
I like it, it is a what you would would expect from Joe nothing new, just good solid music. I am sure it will grow on me with more listens, if you are a fan of joe I am sure you wii like it.
i saw joe with my nephew in Glasgow a few years ago, I got the hearing back in my left ear one week later, it took four weeks to get it back in my right ear, outstanding concert.
Edward
Thanks Edward, I am a fan and bought it "blind" but have not been in the mood to listen to his style of music at the moment. Pleased to learn that your hearing has returned.
Steve
Since a Very Bad Man introduced me to the delights of Mr. Satriani, I do like it very loud, but have to be in the right mood.
But I'm always in the right mood for the following live clip:

I wouldn't argue with that, Nick, good stuff indeed.

(1992)
After having been blown off track by that naughty Nick Lees and his Joe Satriani clip which I just had to watch again - on to some very early DT who I haven't listened to in far too long, this is one of their best.

Agreed Nick, when I saw Joe in the “Armadillo” in Glasgow I was down near the front of the stage directly in front of the right speakers, the music was loud, very loud as joe’s music always is. Outstanding guitarist.

Surfing With The Alien - 24/96

Ooh, I haven’t got it yet, any feedback gratefully received
Vinyl. I think Neil Diamond is one of the more under-rated singer songwriters, his best songs are wonderful examples of the craft, and he interprets them superbly. What a cruel end to his career, thanks for the music Neil.

Eoink, well said. Parkinson's disease strikes down many including a friend of mine. I join you in wishing him and his family well.

Streaming via Qobuz. Checking out this for me unknown artist.
What did Warner do to the other two thirds of his name? But I will check this album out as well. So many Korean pianists in the market place at the moment...
Hi Timo,
It is worth checking out this one. Ji certainly has his own view on how to play the Goldberg variations. This is most noticeable in how he emphasis certain notes. And also the way he plays the ornaments. With some ornaments I found this refreshing. But with one or two I did not like it. But overall, I enjoyed listening to this version. But I am not sure if I am going to buy it.
Regards, Jeroen.
Going through more old HDD's and picked out this for playing.
Eric Clapton- Hammersmith Odeon 4th Dec 1974 complete show.
The 461 Ocean Bvld deluxe version is missing a number of trax from the gig.

PG's best solo album in my view.
Joe Bonamassa - An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House.
Starting off the the evening with some gentle Joe .......... it may well be acoustic, but the dynamics on this album are stunning.
Word of warning ............. this may well be the start of a Joe evening .......... so it will get considerably LOUDER!
Dougie Maclean
The Essential Dougie Maclean CD-Rip
Getting warmed up ready to see Dougie MacLean at the “Celtic Connections” music festival in Glasow at the Royal Concert Hall tomorrow, really looking forward to this as I rate Dougie as the best folk singer in Scotland, IMHO.

Alison Krauss - Windy City
Vinyl copy purchased last week in the BIG vinyl sale. Result!
The first Family album that I bought (while still at school so on vinyl). I've always enjoyed Roger C's very distinctive singing voice.
