STEINWAY artist Alan Feinberg explores different compositional conceptions of the fugue through two generations of composers from the High Baroque era — Froberger, Buxtehude, and Alessandro Scarlatti, matched with J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, and Handel — whose connectivity or cross-pollination is rarely presented in the piano world.

From yesterday evening. Always a challenge for me, Kurt having this perfect technical control etc but for me I am missing an emotional dimension with him...

When this came out, I was working in a small engineering workshop during the college holidays.  This was playing a lot and when I hear it these days, I am instantly transported back to those days and the endless angle grinding.  I look back on it through rose coloured glasses and the music still sounds good.
