On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
On vinyl...
Scientist - Dub From The Ghetto.
Last one of the evening, and how better to end this scorchio North Yorks. day, than with some old skool dub.
Last one for the evening - Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans 'Know What I Mean?' (1961)
2017 - Tidal...
Chilled soundtrack on this very hot summer night.
On vinyl, not played it much, and mainly got it for the singles I remember, but it's thoroughly enjoyable.
Laid back and swinging music from four supreme musicians.
Neil Young - North Country.
Trevor Pinnock - Bach: Brandenburg concertos
Had this on. Will be interesting to see when I have my new ND555 how close I get to the listening experience for this album at the Munich high end while not having the statement amplification and the big Focals....
They talk about groove, and indeed a lot of groove in this album.....
Very relaxing guitar music - Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos
On MOFI vinyl...
Playing on Compact Disc - Fabulous Debut by American Band Interpol from 2002
On CD:-
Paul McCartney - All The Best !
Great album to listen to...
Very Relaxing Vivaldi Lute - Recorded off Vinyl - Playing on Cassette on a TDK AD - X C90
Larry Willis - My funny valentine
Good mainstream jazz by Larry Willis and his trio. A nice bonus is that Kenny Garrett plays along on three songs. The album is a mixture of up tempo songs and a few ballads.
- Larry Willis - Piano
- George Mraz - Bass
- Al Foster - Drums
- Kenny Garrett - Sax
Art Pepper - Live in Japan Vol.1
- Art Pepper - Sax
- Milcho Leview - Piano
- Bob Magnusson - Bass
- Carl Burnett - Drums
On original vinyl...
Playing on Compact Disc on Virgin Records - Sentimental Hygiene by the late Warren Zevon
Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson - "Apart" (2018) a 5 song, 18 minute ep. Heads-up to anyone who enjoyed their 2009 release "Break Up". They make nice music together.
Playing on Compact Disc on RCA Records 1975 - Good solid album from The Statmaster with a title in keeping with the one and only Strat
Rita Coolidge - "Safe In The Arms Of Time" (2018) first listen to new release from a legend in my musical life. First heard Rita with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell way back when.
