On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Frank Sinatra - Sinatra and Swingin' Brass, arranged and conducted by Neal Hefti.

Rita Coolidge - "Safe In The Arms Of Time" (2018) first listen to new release from a legend in my musical life. First heard Rita with Joe Cocker and Leon Russell way back when.
Classy singer, integral in the Delaney and Bonnie & Friends sound.
Saw Mac McAnally gig in Anchorage summer solstice event
Great singer songwriter from Mississipi that I'd never heard of.
Back home got CDs from the river. Great listening and chilling on this hot afternoon.

Playing on Vinyl on Island Records 1973 - Our UK heat nicely dovetails this Marley masterpiece
Not listening to anything, since we've got serious thunder and lightning at the mo' in tropical storm North Yorks. ............ so
everything's powered down and unplugged ........................ Harrumph!!!!
Please, no AC / DC "Thunderstruck" witticisms.
It’s been too long since I’ve listened to this superlative album.

Leonard Cohen - You Want it Darker
What a great voice. I never tire of listening to this guy.
Joe Lovano - Quartets
Listening to the 1994 concert.
- Joe Lovano - Sax
- Tom Harrell - Trumpet & Flugelhorn
- Anthony Cox - Bass
- Billy Hart - Drums
2011 remaster on CD. And why not?
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold on vinyl. Just arrived in the mail. Sounds superb on this overcast day. The sky looks like that out the window without the lightening.
Nils Petter Molvær - Hamada
A reminder (in a good way) of an incredibly loud gig one night, here in my city.

Iggy Pop - Lust For Life.
Essential Iggy ...................... I'd guess this album holds so many different memories for so many different folks.
That cover always reminds me of a young Kenny Dalglish.
Bill Evans - How my heart sings
- Bill Evans - Piano
- Paul Motian - Drums
- Chuck Israels - Bass
Another one of the 2011 CD masters. Mostly recorded during a very hot, sweaty summer, so it seems apposite:
The Doors - Morrison Hotel CD rip. 40th Anniversary edition. Picked this up used today, it's a good sounding remaster.
Kate Bush - The Kick Inside
Astonishing maturity. I have two or three of hers but this is the best.
1981 - Vinyl - 12" single...
Released 2018 - Bromberg’s Bass skills are in service to the groove and each track moves with a funky honesty. Great album ????
