The Hoax - Humdinger
I was going to play The Floyd's Meddle but these bad British blues rock boys came into my head, Meddle coming up next (possibly)
Edit* Just to add that amongst their other finery the cover of Stevie Wonder's Superstition is totally maxed out and heavy...
Christ you really like them. Still recommend keeping an eye out for their Recession Blues album as it is possibly one of the best British Blues albums of all time IMHO. Lucky I got a copy of the cd before it got deleted.
1972 - Vinyl - UK first pressing....
Because I was in the mood for playing Boz
Negative Space - Hookworms (from ‘Microshift’)
A development into a more electronic sound loses none of the urgency of their first two albums. This whole album is really very good.
A very nice trio album
Pain Of Salvation, BE.
This is my first play of this album and I already know it will played many more times, this is such a human journey, so good.
Pink Floyd - The Division Bell. Chilling this evening, good stuff.
Steve Mason. Monkey minds in the devils age.
Post Beta Band member and troubled old soul trying to make the best out of his record deal in 2013 duties.
Joe Armon Jones. Starting Today 2018.
When I first heard some bits of this, I thought it was some really obscure but still highly desirable piece of recording from the late 70s soul jazz rock type. Only to find it's a new Brit jazz treasure born from just recently and not from afar.
On original vinyl! Love B side of this record
Playing on Vinyl on Deutsche Grammophon - Really enchanting Vivaldi Recorder Concerto's
Going again through some different albums with the beast. This is a rewarding execution, while not the best, piano sounds special ...
Short intermezzo - will buy the album...
Sophisticated “good sounding” jazz....
Nice laid back live jazz album...
Great album from e.s.t. not their best, but happy it came out...
Was thinking about great concerts for some reason, so I pulled out a 3-CD boot of the only Dead show I went to - Hallowe'en 1990 at Wemblet Arena. A great show, even if Jerry's voice was shot. The opening Help>Slip>Frank is superb!
Wheeler/ Konitz/ Holland/ Frisell - Angel Song
Quiet in the background, the Allaes doing their thing.
On the Dub Reggae tip with this King Tubby classic - Robbie Shakespeare is guesting and giving my bass drivers a good Saturday morning workout - Playing on Vinyl on the Yard Music label 1976
Eric Clapton - Life in 12 Bars, playing the first disc which includes an excellent alternative live recording of "Spoonful" , aii 17 minutes of it!.
Louis Hayes - Live and lively
Solid jazz by Louis Hayes and his quintet.
- Louis Hayes - Drums
- Charles Tolliver - Trumpet
- Bobby Watson - Sax
- Kenny Barron - Piano
- Clint Houston - Bass
A collection of remarkable performances from a groundbreaking TV show. The thought that we're going to get an expanded version of this with 14 further songs in a few weeks' time is just too exciting. On 2018 vinyl:
